WoW ICC Power Aura Strings

One of my most beloved add-ons in Word of Warcraft is called Power Auras Classic which is a mod that creates a custom graphic, animation and sound to alert you to specific things in game that you don’t want to miss with the added ability to track timers and stacks.  Pretty much anything u want to be alerted to in the game, AT ANY POINT you want to be notified for, can have a custom “aura” set to notify you. This is very helpful in creating alerts for things that can wipe a raid, make you die, or even just class notifications that notify you of buffs/debuffs/procs, etc so you don’t miss a max DPS/Healing opportunity. Yes you can monitor your own debuffs and pay attention to Deadly Boss Mods, but these strings simply put a graphic on your character with appropriate times and sounds to alert you what is going on- and anything that allows you to not have to take your eyes off your character to monitor other stuff is win/win in my opinion.

Power Auras is amazing for all the class specific things you might want to monitor but even more so in raid notifications, especially in Ice Crown Citadel which requires alot of movement and monitoring of debuffs.  If you want to see what class specific auras are out there you can use, just google “your class power aura strings” and you will get lots of ideas and codes to copy if you are too scared/lazy to create your own! You can create yourself or just import others strings and tweek them if you are put off on learning the program.

With that being said, I thought I would share my favorite Power Aura strings for those that are in ICC in World of Warcraft. Here are my strings for the last three bosses that will benefit the raid and you. You can tweek them after you import them in anyway you like and here is a link to a good GUIDE for you if you need additional information with the add-on or want to customize further. This is only a few of the really important ones, but I have more for boss fights and for class specifics I might share at a later time. Lets start with these for now though as they are raid killers!

PLEASE NOTE THESE MAY SHOW AS A QUESTION MARK AND NOT THE SPELL/DEBFUFF GRAPHIC UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY ENCOUNTER IT IN RAID! It depends how it is coded and some I started with other people’s strings. But, it will work when you encounter it, you just wont see the actual spell icon in your power auras box until it has been in play. If you used a custom aura it will show in your box right away, I like to use the actual spell/ability icons for raid alerts however.

To use these simply follow the steps:
1. Download download Power Auras Classic
2. Copy the String below that I provided that you want to use.
3. In game type /powa to bring up the control panel.
4. Hit “Import” button on the bottom
5. Paste the code into the text box.
6. Hit “Accept” and your done!  (You will need to exit OUT of power auras and bring it back up to see your newly created aura and test the positioning, animation, timers, etc if you would like to adjust them before hand!)

Now you can test it to see what it would look like by left clicking on the icon you will now see displayed in the boxes. You can also completly customize and change the aura by right clicking to bring up the “effect editor” box . If you really want to get fancy you can import more sound files into your Power Aura Sound folder and more graphics as well- but that your on your own for! i Have attached some screenshots so you can get a good idea of what they look like BUT please remember you can’t see the animation OR hear sound que’s which are a really the best part. Good luck and here’s to you not wiping the raid because you weren’t monitoring your debuffs in Ice Crown Citadel!

Mystic Buffet This is the stacking debuff that increases magical damage by 10% each stack in phase 2. Set to alert when at 4 stacks, track stacks with timer.

You will see AND vaguely hear my mage specific ones alerting me to Missle Barrage Procs (red half circles around character), Arcane Blast Stacks (blue half moon bar on bottom of character), Frost Ward Available etc. But keep watching for when I get targeted by Unchained Magic and Frost beacon to see these in action for this fight!

Don’t forget, this addon is AMAZING with replacing class specific mods as you can literally create a aura for every single class in every single way all the way YOU want it to look. Don’t be turned off by it looking complicated, it’s NOT, just play with it a little bit and see how amazing it is to keep your eyes on your toon and your head in the game! And before anyone asks or notice’s, yes I did change my race to gnome since the video =P
