Next weekend a few hundred of America’s top gamers will converge upon NYC to fight for their status in the World Cyber Gamers (WCG) league as the top US players in their game. Winners of most of these tournaments will become part of Team USA who will move onto the World Finals in China for a chance at global domination in their title. This time they battle, they will do it attached to one of the largest Anime conventions, the NY Anime Festival at the Jacob K. Javits Center September 25th-27th.

The cast of the hit reality show, WCG Ultimate Gamer (this means me!), will also be present as we take on all challengers in multiple titles on industry-leading Samsung high definition TVs, monitors and mobile phones.  What games we are playing is uncertain, but I am sure there will be a little something for everyone- although you can bet I am not going to load up a game being competed on in the tournament!

The official tournaments players will be competing on include the following played on PC, Console, and Mobile platforms:

• Counter-Strike 1.6 (5 v. 5 Team FPS )
• StarCraft: Brood War (1 v. 1 RTS)
• Warcraft III (1 v. 1 RTS)
• FIFA Soccer 09 (1 v. 1 Sports)
• Carom3D (1 v. 1 Casual)
• Gears of War 2 (4 v. 4 Team FPS) US title only
• Guitar Hero World Tour (1 v. 1 Music)
• Virtua Fighter 5 (1 v. 1 Fighting)
• Asphalt 4: Elite Racing (1 v. 1 Racing)
• Wise Star 2 (1 v. 1 Strategy)
