So the last two years I have gone to my sister’s house for Super Bowl Sunday.  I don’t go for the football; I go for the gaming, baby!!!! Never once have I sat down and watched the game; I am usually sitting on a Poker table, on a couch playing a video game, or playing my handheld during gaming “breaks”.  Of course there are TV’s and Projectors all over the house for the 40 or so people that are wandering all over, spilling drinks, and chowing down like they haven’t eaten in weeks, so even when we are gaming they can get their fix.

The best thing about Super Bowl other than football, for the football freaks, is the gambling that goes on and the money that’s won- especially by me! I am blessed with what I call “newbie” luck, and trust me, it pisses everyone off. Last year I won one of the poker tournaments for $250, a big square on the football pool for $250, and a little square for $125.  Grand total $625, and for someone that could care less about football that’s not too shabby. My sister also has this innate luck and wins a lot too; I think she won $500 last year.

This year wasn’t as great as last year, but ALMOST!!  We had 14 people playing poker and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all won money since we combined 2 tables when more people got knocked out of each. I won $250 again, much to the chagrin of all the guys playing, since I was the only girl in the first game. My insane giggling for the last hour of play surely drove these guys nuts as everyone knows that my giggle is a sign that I have great cards. Pure luck and no skill, as I never bluffed once. I just drove everyone off with major beats and dumb luck with flops.  Yeah, I love poker; not just because I normally win, but because I really play my cards and not people and end up with the best luck!

I also won one of the big squares this year, but the squares were cheaper this time around, being only $1 and $3 to buy.  But hey, in the poker game alone I made the $80 I spent on squares and the poker game back, plus a lot.  Instead of being a professional video game player, I’m thinking I will be a professional gambler instead so I can keep pissing everyone off with my newbie luck. Maybe I should start betting online like all the guys do, running back and forth from the computer!
