Second Life = Second Opportunites!
Jan 20, 1:54 am

So recently I was introduced to a game I had heard about long ago but never really checked out as it sounded more like a dating service then a game. In fact it’s not really a game, is unique in itself that it is truly an alternate universe and a Second Life for its players made by Linden Lab.

Ok, some of you may have heard about it but I don’t know that most people know the full complexities to this “not really a game, but another life” experience.  It is not an MMO but plays along the same level in that you enter a world where the players have almost uninhibited control over their universe.  What I mean by this is I am finding it PACKED full of people with amazing talents with coding, scripting, and graphic backgrounds and not the normal type of gamer at all. It is almost a networking hub, as you will find CEO’s, execs, and artists from all companies and all backgrounds congregating in one area and showing off their “stuff’.

The game has this unique system in that almost every object in it is created by the users and actually BUISNESSES are booming and making REAL money on this game. How? They create end-user virtual products or service’s DIGITALLY and sells them to people. I am not talking about chump change people; I am talking about a MAJOR way of life and a MAJOR opportunity for people that are dedicated to it.  There are only 100,000 users on this game yet month alone 4 MILLION dollars of real currency filtered through this game to its players!  You actually buy and purchase lands and build houses and businesses and attract others to it, or simply find your fun in a highly intelligent and social environment.

Let me show you some examples:

One smart woman makes her business buying and developing real estate. Essentially she buys the land from the game and builds amazingly and architecturally stunning properties on them then sells for a higher profit to people in the game that just HAVE to have them. She made a real life salary in the six figures last year doing so.

Another woman makes her living off designing clothes and jewelry and has since earned a reputation the way a high class fashion designer would, making her styles hot for demand. She has also made a six figure salary.

One guy, Kermit Quick a.k.a Triki , wrote a mini game to play inside the game called Tringo, which is a blend of Tetris and Bingo and became one of the most popular attractions inside the game.  Since the users retain ALL RIGHTS to their intellectual property the game maker has now signed a deal with GBA to have the game published with them. Who in the hell knows how much this guy made on that deal!

Another person runs a popular Poker Parlor where players can sit down and battle it out at cards. Seriously the sky is the limit here and anyone can create almost any scripted object/s for almost ANY purpose!

Anyway, these are just a few examples of how this game has changed the face of what we feel gaming actually is. I would also like to point out there are many “adult” businesses and such but luckily the underage kids get their own “special” place where they aren’t allowed mature luxuries.  I have decided to develop a business here as well, although I have no background with coding and scripting I got a GREAT idea for it and will pulling in some of my resources to help me with it as partners. Point of fact is I know there are a lot of amazingly gifted people in the communities that I dwell in and wanted to let you all know of the opportunities that lie in this game for all different reasons. Be it learning more about tech and graphics, networking, business aims, or simply socialization this is THE place for you.

Now, of course there are some issues tetchily with this game as it is a constantly evolving master piece, and you better have a good computer, the possibilities are unlimited here for those that want to take them.  I am hoping that since the RPG elements are missing here that I won’t get sucked in too much, but who knows what is going to happen.

See you on the flip side in Second Life!
