So at this year’s PAX I became acquainted with a product I didn’t even realize was out there on the market: a controller mod that allows rapid fire. The IntensaFire mod on your controller turns any weapons into an automatic weapons when you activate it by pressing the fire button.  It makes the wepons more accurate as it eliminates recoil and allows you to fire as fast as “computerly” possible (notice I don’t say humanly).

This mod and others like it advertise you to be able to annihilate your competition as you fire much faster than your average competition and promises glorious multiplayer records for you to obtain with its assistance. If you don’t want this particular mod, you can even buy prebuilt modded controllers or build a mod from scratch.

Now that all the info is out of the way, let’s get to the rant part. GET THE HELL OFF XBOX LIVE YOU CHEATERS. Seriously.

Ok, if you want to use a mod such as this on your own time and offline, by all means break your warranty- but for the rest of you attempting to use this online against human opponents, I say I hope you all fall down and break your thumbs.

I know some of the nay sayers will be around saying “It’s my game and I’ll play like I want”, “Nobody is stopping you from using it, so don’t blame me”, and my favorite “It’s not cheating if it’s available to anyone” and to them I say… shut the front door and grow up. 

You’re just not good and it is cheating if you have to buy equipment that modifies normal game play and turns your multiplayer weapons against your human opponent into a computerized auto shot. (Notice how carefully I worded that statement all you people ready to jump on it.)

Anyway, I just wanted to rant about these products and say to anyone that might be thinking of using them in multiplayer games that I have seen the video and it is semi-easy to tell if someone is using them. Even if you don’t care about sportsmanship or reputation, you should rethink that feeling of accomplishment that you get from winning and killing your opponents- because you aren’t earning it.
