I Want It, I Want It, I Want It- Xbox 360
Oct 31, 1:46 am

So, recently a few of us were able to attend the a little Xbox 360 event in San Francisco where we got to demo some of the launch titles for the new console.  Better then that, we were also given a little test drive of the new dashboard and see a little of what this bad boy was capable of.  Of course, most of the time was spent running roadrunners from one station to another as we boxed people’s head to take over on the games that caught our fancy (excluding the sports titles, where I absolutely fall into the stereotype that girls don’t play this genre.)

Being that we had a many people higher up in the industry and media around us, you would think we would act with some decorum since we are, after all, ladies right?  Think again- well at least for me, as I won’t slander my girls just fully admit that I myself have no reservations in screaming, crying, or bitching loudly based on what suits my mood at the time.

Call of Duty 2 was the first thing that caught my eye- Brooke and I proceeded to plop ourselves down in the chairs and shoo the guys that were on it at the time.  It was going great and we were just starting to get into the game when- oops, out of the side of my eye I catch a glimpse of another game I had been waiting to see.  Off I go, as I ungraciously tell one of the guys. “You can have your spot back” and proceed to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, where Ashley is already seated.  As I couldn’t really call upon her gentlemanly nature and make her feel guilty to get up (and the other guys sitting down wouldn’t directly look me in the eye as they saw the first escapade), I stand around and wait till one of the people get up. I watch and drool for about 2 minutes daring them to look at me so I can force my will upon their’s, but alas, they are too smart for my womanly wiles.  My attention span lasts for another minute or so but in my boredom I began searching the room for my next victim.

It comes in a burst of color on a screen all the way on the other side of the room in the form of a fairy creature. Kameo beckons me to the light and I obligingly follow the psychedelic trace trails and sit down at an open seat (luckily for the other players that were sitting down.) “Yummy, yummy,” I think as I proceed to load one of the later levels, much to the dismay of the man there that was helping everyone.  “Tsk, tsk.” I say as he warns me that I won’t learn the combos and moves by being so aggressive, “Who do you think you are talking to?” He watches me like a hawk as I proceed to jump into a large battle and pick a fight with a few orc-like creatures and shoot cannons at them in my little fire ant form.  Knowing that I want to get this game as soon as I can, I decide I better not play anymore and didn’t want any spoilers for the future.  Skipping around blissfully, I proceed to all the other games I have wanted to see, including PDZ, PGR3, etc., etc., etc.  Not that the rest deserve “etc. etc, etc”, but I simply don’t have the time to go into each and every one and don’t really care if you all want to know: hahahahhahahaha.

The best part of the event was the tour of the new Xbox Dashboard and Marketplace.  OMG. OMG. OMG- that’s all I got to say.  The MS guys, wanting to make us pee our pants, had iPod Nano’s plugged in and showed us how to select our music to play during ANY game you want. They showed us extensive features that gamers will be ecstatically crying over, such as: achievements gamers get when playing certain games, the new feedback and classification system, the XboxLive Arcade, voice communication system allowing you to talk to your friends who are playing on other games- not in the same game anymore, etc., etc., etc.  Yea, I know I am using the “etc.” too much but I just can’t simply cover or relay everything that this system will do for us.  All I have to say is, I have a new baby coming into my life that is going to change the face of the gaming community and I love it, love it, love it.  And since my blog is so redundant at this moment, I might as well end with: anyone that doest think this will change the face of online gaming even more than the original Xbox can eat it, eat it, eat it.
