Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: The Game
May 18, 4:45 pm

A few weeks ago I got a lot of ribbing and laughter pointed my direction by people on my friends list, asking why in the heck I was playing the Harry Potter game.  They giggled, they teased, and prodded and poked as to what could make any gamer, let alone myself, play this game.

Well I am here to tell you that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was AWESOME.  I understand that games based on movies usually suck and make, at least us hardcore gamers who know better, not simply shy away, but run when we see them mingled into the sea of titles at our local game stores. I understand that the taint is almost unbearable and the snobbery rightfully abounds with these genres, but this one is different, people, whether you believe me or not.

I am not even a huge Harry Potter fan. I haven’t read all the books, I don’t rush to the theater when movies come out, nor do I lather at the mouth waiting for the next one. I just want you to understand that it is not fanaticism of the branding itself that makes me say this game is amazing.

All I am saying is that for fans of action/adventure titles, this is the one you missed out on and need to play. I couldn’t put this game down until it was finished, and that wasn’t even in the normal eight hours that it usually takes me to beat games like this.  There world of Hogwarts is open ended and extremely expansive - as I like such titles to be. The graphics are great, the voices are great (a lot of the cast actually recorded), and the story line (although you might already know it) flows easily and remains enticing.

If you like games that you have to run around to explore and find things, solve puzzles, play mini games, and be the hero, then this is the game for you. So, tuck down your noses and get over the stigma that exist for games about movies.Trust me when I say that if you like action/adventure games, this is one that probably flew off your radar unjustly and needs to be played!
