FINALLY, my mundane and exasperation wait is over and mama has a new pair of dancing shoes!! I finally got my copy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter yesterday and I that means my wait for a great Xbox 360 multiplayer title is OVER. I have a game I can enjoy and play with my clan as well as pull me away from my MMO crack for awhile. Woot, this means I am a competitor once again, so buckle up ladies and gents for some good old Valkyrie’s Butt Kicking Hour.
I tore into my game when it arrived like a 3 yr old with a Christmas present and popped that bad boy in. Oh, mama mia is it PURRTY, and I am not just saying that. In fact you’ll be able to see for yourself as the demo will be on the 360 this week for you non-believers.
Aside from the lacking female character presence- *cough* sorry devs I’ll never let that go no matter what reason- there just seems to be so much more to this game than the last. I swear this is one of the few franchises that gets better and better in my eyes, instead of worse and worse like so many other great franchises. AND Ubisoft kept it REAL! What does that mean? THIS IS GHOST RECON, just new and improved not completely different and hacked up which is something I am always afraid of. Meaning all the old GR players will love it. The new features are nicely integrated so that they do not change gameplay for the fans of this game.
New elements for multiplayer that are SWEET are the Character Identity System where you choose your appearance and class, based on your style of play- combining the class system from GR1 with the weapon selection freedom of GR2. You can also have some new high-tech toys which allow you to view your teammate’s positions and even give orders to them in campaign. One of the biggest things I am looking forward to is the Co-Op Campaign, developed specifically to play cooperatively in Local, Link, and Live, meaning I need a partner to get my achievement and I want it! This is a whole new story and environment so it will not be the same as the single player campaign.
The only thing I want to whine about (when you love a series there is always a few gripes with a new game) and that is where the heck is my clan support???? I know, I know, its such a small thing but I do enjoy it when the games have that function. I guess I will look at the bright side and at least clans will need to register on ladders and be subject to judgement should cheating be found, etc. Anyway, that’s about all I got right now- I’m off to play my new baby and be reborn into Valkyrie the pwner again.
