Frag Dolls Make Semi-Pro for MLG on Rainbow Six: Vegas
Sep 27, 3:58 am

Yep, you heard it right - our season of competing has finally paid off as we officially took the 16th seed before the Championship Finals in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. What does this mean for us? Validation. Validation for the blood, sweat, tears, screaming, and almost-broken friendships as the season is about to come to a close.

MLG

This year’s MLG season has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life; having the financial resources for a set team of amazing women to play with and meeting a great group of new friends, all traveling the circuit, has added valuable and excited memories to my bank.

Memories like:

  • MLG Dallas with our amazing Boot Camp with PMS, Zero Hour, and Honor & Integrity.

ZH
  • Sending the number one online team, Guys in Camo, to the losers bracket.

  • Putting on lip gloss and posing for cameras while playing, because we were schooling the other team so bad.

LipGloss
  • Partying like rock stars.

Poolparty
  • Going to Medieval Times with a big group of people.

Medieval Times
  • And many more!

It didn’t start off all roses; we had a lot of issues working around everyone’s schedule and getting our commitment levels to what would be needed to perform well, but we talked and fought like normal teams and ended up pulling together in true teammate fashion.  We took 17th place at all but one tournament, which was a very frustrating experience for all of us - it seemed like we simply couldn’t win that last match every time that would launch us officially into the championship bracket.

Apparently, even though we couldn’t seem to pull ourselves over that 17th hurdle, due to our continued high placement and dedication to attending all the events, we now go into the Las Vegas finals securing the 16th placement.  This means we’ve obtained semi-pro status officially, via all the points we earned throughout the season. I am not positive, but I assume we are the first all-female team to obtain any semi-pro status on the MLG circuit, and that is nothing to sneeze at. Every milestone any female gamer can obtain is something for ALL of the girl gamers out there fighting and sweating it out with the rest of them for validity, dignity, and respect.

Anyway, we would like to thank all those people that believed in us and supported us throughout the season. We have one more shot to take top 8 in Vegas as only the top 7 have secured spots in the national championships, and the rest of us will be battling it out for that last spot. We fully intend on smacking all our friends and stealing it from right under their noses as they play Halo and we dedicate the next two weeks to Rainbow. Silly boys…
