I’ve done a lot of competitive gaming in my life, and these are the things I believe are fair. This list is derived from personal experience and my own standpoint as a gamer over the years (it doesn’t reflect Ubisoft’s official stance or anything like that). Without further ado, I present to you the Competitive Gamers’ Bill of Rights:
1. The right to play in any open and public venues.
2. The freedom of speech and self-expression without fear of retribution.
3. The right to bear and promote sponsor/clan/team logo’s that do not promote obscene or illegal images or products.
4. The right to use, protect and promote our individual and team identities and clan/team affiliations at all times.
5. The right to be compensated duly for any use of our identities, images and likeness and not be forced into consent or exploitation.
6. The right to choose our own affiliations and promotions and not be forced into consent in lieu of participation.
7. The right to participate in safe, healthy, and fair environments without fear of cheating and exploits and with provided supervision.
8. The right of equal opportunity to strive for success without fear of bias, prejudice, and favoritism in competition.
9. The right to be treated with dignity and respect.
10. The right to share in leadership and decision-making of our sport and participation.
