Smurfs’ Village is a Smurfy App

Right now, Smurfs’ Village is dominating my iPad. It’s one of my favorite games to play. It’s free to download (on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad) and the offers players the chance to build a Village full of little busy Smurfs. There are crops to plant, mushroom houses to build, potions to mix, pies to bake and all kinds of landscaping items available to make your village super smurfy.

The game is free to download, but does offer players the opportunity to purchase smurfberries to use as currency on micro-transactions in-game. Just about anything you earn or unlock can be purchased ahead of time with smurfberries. The game does give you free smurfberries for leveling up and you can horde them to acquire the items you most desire, but if you don’t have the patience for earning smurfberries you could always buy them. However, I have been able to build my awesome little village without spending any real money.

I have been playing Smurfs’ Village for a couple of months now. I love Smurfs and I especially love MY Smurfs! My little village is so smurfy. I’m a level 24. I finally saved up enough smufberries to get Smurfette, which I’m really happy about. She gives any Smurfs around her XP by blowing kisses. It’s so cute. You can’t have a Smurf village w/out Smurfette!

This game is a lot of fun. I have enjoyed planting and harvesting crops, playing cute mini games and I love how the game has seasonal updates. Smurfs’ Village isn’t w/out it’s little frustrations but all in all, it’s a great app. The graphics in this game are fantastic. I wish I could really visit my Smurf Village. I’d walk around giving little hugs to all my smurf friends.

Info and Tips:

LOST PROGRESS
When I first started playing I had problems with the game’s auto save. My village kept reverting back to previous levels and I would loose all my progress. They have since updated the game and it doesn’t to that anymore.

But, if you find your game reverting back to other levels there are a few things you can do about it:

- Fist and foremost, DO NOT continue playing, quit out of the app and restart your device.
- If quitting & restarting didn’t work than go to the main menu an select “Options”. Tap Papa Smurf’s head 16 times. An option to “Recover Village” will appear, select it and then choose a previous save. You may not be able to get back to your level but you can get close.

HARVESTING CROPS
When you plant crops you have a specific amount of time to wait for the crops to grow. When your crops are ready you have a length of time equal to the time it took to grow them before they will wilt and die. (Except for blueberries, which wilt in 5 minutes. Sarsparilla, thankfully, does not wilt.)

You can always use a smurfberry to bring wilted crops back to life.

You can change the clock on your device to grow your crops faster.  When you set your clock back to the correct time you will get a warning from Papa Smuf that if you mess with your clock and over work your Smurfs they will leave you. None of my Smurfs have ever left. I think this is an empty threat.
