There are so many good games coming out this year. Games I’ve been patiently waiting years for and others I’m just finding out about. I now have two additional consoles (PS3 and a Wii), so I can broaden my search when looking to add to my game library. But just like the rest of you I want to make sure I am not a victim of clever marketing and I don’t waste my money on something that sucks. So I thought I would go over some of the ones I am looking forward to. Maybe you guys have some suggestions and could help me in my search.
So here is my wish list:
Halo 3 ODST – 2 disk “More then an expansion” pack offers a new ODST campaign plus Firefight, a 4 player co-op experience. In Firefight, you play against waves of covenant, difficulty increases as Halo 3 skulls turn on. Play as long as you can survive! 5 waves per round and 3 rounds per set; should be interesting. 2 new weapons, sound suppressed SMG (with a scope) and a sound suppressed pistol (reminiscent of the powerful pistol from Halo 1).
The second disk offers the entire Halo 3 matchmaking multiplayer experience, all the Halo 3 maps and 3 new ones. PLUS – access to the Halo: Reach Beta.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 – Battlefield Bad Company might be one of my favorite online games next to R6V2. I have high hopes for this one. There are few things I would like to see incorporated into the game this time around. For example, a Co-op campaign, I want to be able to hold private matches, left-handed controller options would be nice and I want to be able to talk to more players then just my 4 squad members and how about attainable achievements? How on earth are you suppose to get 20 guys to spawn on you in a round without dying…or cheating? Last but not least, the ability to go prone.
Assassins Creed 2 – I couldn’t play a lot of the first one, because it didn’t have southpaw controller options. I hope this one does but I’m not going to hold my breath. Not to worry I have my lefty controller now. I think Ezio Auditore da Firenze is going to be my new crush. This game looks so dope. I got to see some actual gameplay footage at Comic Con and it blew me away!!!
Max Payne 3
Splinter Cell Conviction – Sam is back! Dynamic stealth, face paced action, mark and execute, last known position, interrogation mode, EMP grenades, I can’t wait!! But I will have to wait a little longer as they have pushed the release date.

Need for Speed Shift – it’s a first person racing simulation, featuring realistic handling and physics. With 18 authentic race tracks and over 65 different cars including a one-of-a-kind BMW M3 GT2!!!! One of the first things I noticed was the all new crash mechanics. The cars take damage in a realistic way and the crashes are really cool. The second thing I noticed was the perspective options. They put you right behind the wheel and you can see your HANDS!! You see an actual person driving the car. When NFS Shift comes out it will be available for your iPhone. Awesome.
Modern Warfare 2 – two words: Night Vision Goggles!
Wii GAMES: I am always on the lookout for a good Wii game. Suggestions are welcome! There are a few coming out this year that I am getting for sure.
Red Steel 2 - When that comes out I am going to get the glowing light saber adaptor for my Wii mote so I can geek out slicing and dicing bad guys in my living room. I can’t wait!! But again, I’ll have to wait a little longer as the release date has been pushed. I would rather have them take their time so I can enjoy the best game possible. I’m patient. 
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Smash Up - This game was a huge hit at Comic Con. I love playing it, it is so much fun. I heart the Turtles! I am looking forward to playing thru the story. It was written by Peter Laird one of the creators of TMNT.
Dead Space Extraction
PS3 GAMES: I just got a PS3. I’ve downloaded a few demos (which took FOREVER) Afro Samuri, MetalGearSolid 4 and Killzone 2. PS3 is new territory for me. Are you excited about any upcoming PS3 exclusive games? What should I be on the lookout for?
Final Fantasy 14– I saw this game at E3 and it blew my mind, it looks amazing. The game is listed as a MMORPG releasing in 2010 on PS3 and PC. I have never played a Final Fantasy game. Do you think I would be able to follow it having not played the other 13?
There you have it, my monster wish list. I will be playing all these games at some point. There are some big-ticket items here so I will have to be selective on my purchases. Too many games so little time.
