Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!! I am right in the middle of my Christmas vacation. My family and I have rented a house on Vashon Island in Washington State. We are right on the water and I have enjoyed waking up to the spectacular views of the Pacific Northwest. It is truly beautiful and so far has been the perfect place to celebrate the holidays.
Over the years Christmas has fluctuated in importance for our family, some years are more important then others, I don’t know why. But for the last couple of years we have had big family Christmas adventures. Last year was a Disneyland Christmas and this year we all have come to Seattle to introduce our new family to our extended family. So far so good.
This vacation has had a number of memorable moments. Like our hotel being evacuated while we were enjoying breakfast. It was very exciting, but in the end was a false alarm….I think. Today there were two bald eagles in a tree right over the house. All of us stood out in the cold for a while watching these amazing birds sunning themselves in the afternoon sun. Bald Eagles are huge! They were very unimpressed with us (and the fifty or so crows freaking out in the neighboring tree). I have never seen Eagles like that in the wild that close up. It was very cool. We also got a Christmas tree but had very little things to decorate it with but found a stand and a ton of lights complete with decorations in a closet here in the vacation rental. It was perfect!
The best part of the trip has been getting to play video games with my family. Home is where your Xbox is . . . and I brought mine. We also brought our Wii. All of us have been playing tons of video games; but, out of all the games I brought, Trivial Pursuit, Just Dance and the new Super Mario Brothers are the front runners for most popular. My brother is a FIEND for the new Super Mario Bro’s, my 6 year old niece is beast at Just Dance (and has been owning) and in a rare moment of collective thought we all (even grandpa), sat down to play Trivial Pursuit on Xbox. I love playing games as a family. We had an epic Just Dance marathon last night. Hours of laughing, dancing and pure entertainment, Just Dance might be the best wii game EVER!!!

Any way, I just wanted to check in and wish you all a wonderful Christmas full of blessings and joy. With that said, I leave you with these questions to answer.
What are some of your most memorable moments this Christmas? And what was the best gift you got this year? Did you believe in Santa as a kid? If so what happened when you discovered he wasn’t real? Or, did I just ruin it for you?
