Meeting of the Dolls
Aug 11, 12:48 am

An incredible event took place recently. An occurrence that required large amounts of make-up and digital media to capture this extraordinary meeting to prove to the world it actually happened…Almost all of the Frag Dolls came to be in the same place at the same time. We all met up in San Francisco last week for meetings and to participate in a team photo shoot.

Our first day together was spent touring the Ubisoft office and meeting with brand managers about upcoming events. A few of us had never been to Ubisoft San Francisco. I had only seen it on videos so I was especially excited to explore it in person. wink We went from floor to floor saying hi and introducing ourselves to all those people at the other end of our emails. It is always great when you can put a face to a name. The offices seem like a fun and creative place to work. There is candy everywhere!!! There were games, huge posters, secret meetings, unreleased game art on bulletin boards and just about everywhere you went you needed a special card to get thru the door. It was really cool!

My favorite meeting of the day (besides meeting Psyche, the only team member I hadn’t met yet) was our meeting with the Splinter Cell Conviction brand managers. One of which, tried to walk us through the demo only to be berated with rapid-fire questions from all of us girls. He was very gracious and surprisingly patient with all the questions. Eventually, I got to play the demo and it was AMAZING!! I was in fan girl heaven. I can’t wait to play it again. I heart this game.

We left the Ubisoft office to walk (what felt like to the state line) to visit the guys over at Astro Gaming. We took a tour and got some goodies!! But the most impressive aspect of their office is their crazy 3D printer. It looks like a big refrigerator but it creates 3 dimensional objects almost out of thin air. It was the coolest thing ever! Mind blowing, Star Trek stuff. I didn’t even know stuff like that existed.

The next day we had our team photo shoot. This was really fun!! We all got our hair and make-up done and hung out at the studio all day. We took team photos and individual photos and fun goofy photos. I had a great day. The photo shoot took place in this cool loft downtown. The set was really cozy and fun, there was lots of pink and gaming paraphernalia everywhere. It was perfect.

We did a lot of team building and getting to know each other in our down time and over dinners. We are all so different but at the core so much alike. I truly enjoyed each and every moment hanging out with the team. It is very rare for this many girls to get along so well. I feel extremely blessed to be a gamer counted among such amazing women.
