This is the achievement you get in Assassins Creed 2 for finding all the feathers hidden throughout the game. Ezio’s little brother, Petruccio, is the one who asks you to start collecting feathers for a special project. At one point it becomes apparent he will no longer be able to use the feathers you collect. If you choose to continue collecting feathers you will be given a place to store and count them and if you collect them all, an achievement (worth 30gs) will unlock.

I have not collected all the feathers; yet, I am still working my way through the game. I know I am not the only one looking to collect all these feathers. I thought I would share some of my methods for feather hunting with those of you who are looking to collect them all too.

Assassins Creed 2 allows you to purchase treasure maps in-game to assist in your scavenger hunts. Items then appear on your map and as you collect them they disappear off your map. Thus making it easier to know which items you still need to find. This method of keeping track is ideal. Unfortunately feathers and glyphs are not located on any in-game map. Therefore, a little extra effort and help is needed to find and locate all of them. In cases like this, I like to find a map, print it out and then check items off as I go. That way at the end of the game if I missed something it narrows my search down a bit.

Everyone can agree there is nothing worse than finishing a game and finding out you have missed 1 item and not knowing were to start looking for it and having to revisit and comb over every nook and cranny hoping to find it before you slit your wrists. So, I recently picked up the Assassin’s Creed 2 Collector’s Edition: Prima Official Game Guide (Hardcover) and it came with these awesome maps. I thought I would share them with you. Happy hunting!

Feather Tips:

* For me, I find the least frustrating way is to start collecting everything right from the very beginning. As I collect a feather I check it off the map.

* Most Feathers I have found throughout the world, so far, have been up high.

* I use Eagle Vision to look around for them. This helps because in Eagle Vision the feathers sparkle and are better visible.

* (If possible) I collect all the feathers in an area before I advance the story. That way I don’t have to back track. The free roaming in the game easily allows for this.

* Some Feathers were out of reach and I had to advance the story to gain an additional ability to jump and climb higher. I made note of those feathers and their location before I advanced so I knew exactly where to come back for them.
