I Believe In Ghosts

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was at E3 this year!! Developers for the game were walking players through this long awaited title with hands on demos of Multiplayer and the Campaign. Brookelyn and I got a sneak peek at this game a few weeks back at the Ubisoft E3 Preview Event. Not only did we get to play the game, but we also had unlimited access to some of the games developers and creative geniuses behind this fantastic third person shooter. Check out our video with Brookelyn’s interview with Tommy Jacob, the Creative Director on the Multiplayer and Roman Campos, the Lead Game Designer on the Campaign for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. They talk about features in the Multiplayer, the story behind the game’s campaign as well as tell us when we can finally expect that Beta we have all been waiting for. Enjoy!

More Multiplayer Info
3 Different Classes:
We asked Tommy Jacob (Creative Director on the games Multiplayer) what players could expect from the different classes in the Multiplayer. While he couldn’t go into real detail, he did get us excited with 1 or 2 bits of info about the different Classes.
Players will have 3 Roles to choose from:
Rifleman - Carries lots of ammo and grenades.
Scout - Stealth class, Sniper rifle, access to the SMG and active camo. Anytime the player goes into a stationary state the camo engages and as long as he moves slowly through the map it will stay engaged. This class will also have access to a camera sensor.
Engineer - Allows you to fly the drone and collect intel. One of the default weapons is the PDR (Personal Defense Rifle).
Gunsmith:
The concept of Gunsmith is a feature in the game that allows for total weapon customization with 52 WEAPONS and 49 MODIFICATIONS. If you’re playing on Xbox 360 with a Kinect camera, Gunsmith puts the “future” in Future Soldier. You can use motion and voice commands to make your experience a little more awesome. You rotate, assemble or separate your weapon not unlike something you would see in the movie Minority Report.
I’m anticipating the level of weapon customization in Ghost Recon Future Soldier’s Multiplayer to be unprecedented. Were not talking just the sights, magazine or the stock modifications that you would see in a typical shooter, but Gunsmith allows you to break the weapon apart while giving the player the ability to create a completely personalized weapon i.e. allowing you to customize the trigger group, modify the gas system, the barrel length and much more.
Tommy Jacob said that there are “10 Points of Customization on our most versatile weapon and with the amount of elements that we give to the player to go into the customization there are actually over a million possibilities for 1 gun in terms of customization”.
Brookelyn suggested that “with this kind of customization, everyone is just going to try and figure out how to make that miracle gun like the .50 cal in Rainbow”. Jacob replied, “Our designers paid very close attention to making sure you are not able to create an uber weapon. It’s a very balanced system. Every adjustment you make to your gun is going to have a plus and minus factor to it. It’s not like you are going to take all ten categories and max them out. You will have to pick a category that you want to focus on that will make the gun perform the way you want it to perform“.
Lead Game Designer, Roman Campos added, “The idea is to have a gun that fits the best for the way you want to use it and not create the best gun in the world but the best gun for you”.
After seeing what this game has to offer first hand, my excitement and anticipation for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has quadrupled. And I thought I was excited about this game last year. E3 2011 left me believing in Ghosts and wanting more!
