For the last few days Ghostbusters the video game has been my obsession. I love it! I played thru on professional mode and set out to get as many of the achievements as I could with only one play thru. I was able to get all the career achievements and now I am working on the multiplayer ones. I thought I would compile all the info I learned and used while I played and put it together for those of you who may be interested. So here is my Ghostbusters Achievement Guide. This is a great game. Happy Hunting.
Platform: Xbox 360
Approximate time: 15+ Hours
Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 complete playthrough required
Offline points: 890
Online points: 110
Nice Shootin’, Tex! - 30
Complete the game with less than $100,000 in property damage.
Here is how to get this achievement without having to go through the game a second time. Have a completed saved game file on your hard drive. Start a new game on a memory card. Play past the training mission, and save the game as soon as you begin the hotel mission. Then, quit the game. Load the saved game file from the hard drive, and go to the final Boss. Go into the “Options” menu. Go to the “Game Play” setting, and change the “Memory” setting to the memory card. Defeat the Boss to get the achievement.
However if that is not an option for you, I recommend getting this achievement on a 2nd play thru on ‘Casual’ difficulty (as you can let your team do most of the work and will have gotten all your other achievements on your first play thru so you can just concentrate on this task). Before you attempt this achievement you must be prepared to start over if you make a mistake. One false move can compromise this achievement. Keep an eye on your stats to see if you’re under the required amount. The two levels to avoid causing ANY damage are on “Times Square” and “The Museum of History”. If you do make a mistake quickly quit out of the game and resume, check your stats and hope that whatever you just damaged didn’t get recorded. This will unlock once the game has been completed.
We Came, We Saw… - 50
Complete the game on ‘Casual’ or ‘Experienced’ difficulty.
This achievement unlocked for me when I completed the game on ‘Professional’ difficulty.
Are You A God? - 100
Complete the game on ‘Professional’ difficulty.
- I recommend staying close to your guys so you can revive each other, because on this difficulty they go down A LOT. (you will have to do most of the work as your guys are useless)
- Vent your pack on a regular basis (tap RB)
- Revive all team-mates as soon as you can, priority.
- Know which weapons do the most damage to the ghost your fighting (scan them and read the stats in the Tobin’s Spirit Guide)
The Destructor - 30
Complete the game with more than $3,000,000 in property damage. This will unlock once the game has been completed.
If you finish the game and have not damaged enough stuff reload the Museum level at the “American History” checkpoint and replay this checkpoint as many times as you need. This exhibit will earn you at least $1 million worth of damage on each run. You must play until the next checkpoint so your data saves. Then reload the final checkpoint of the game (on casual) and as soon as you beat the boss it will unlock.
Ghostbusters Drinking Game - 40
Quench your thirst wherever possible to avoid being scared spitless.
There are 8 water fountains located all through the game. You must use every water fountain in the game and progress onto the next checkpoint once you use the fountain so the game saves your progress or else the game will not give you credit for the fountain.
Water Fountains Locations:
Firehouse
- Next to the desk in the main area, by the stairs. (Checkpoint: You’re Hired)
Hotel Sedgewick
- In the main lobby there will be a short hallway on the left wall with two vending machines. It is next to the machines. (Checkpoint: Extended Service Agreement)
- After the hotel fills with water, there will be an elevator room before you enter the restaurant. An elevator will open and drain the water. Opposite the elevators and tucked in a corner is this one. Thanks to DrPoo for the tip! (Checkpoint: Charge of the Light Brigade)
Times Square
- In the laundromat, next to the back exit into the alley. (Checkpoint: Spin Cycle)
- After riding the elevator, it will be just before the small architectural office. (Checkpoint: Race to the Roof)
Library
- Just before the children’s book room, in the hallway. (Checkpoint: Story Hour)
Museum
- After sliming the invisible door, go down the hallway and make a left. It will be next to a collectible. (Checkpoint: The Ossuary)
Return To Sedgewick
- In front of you as you enter the generator room. (Checkpoint: Emergency Generator)
...And You Want to Keep It? - 20
Collect 1 Cursed Artifacts using your PKE scanner.
Your scanner will glow blue when you a near a cursed artifact.
Spores, Molds, and Fungus - 40
Collect all Cursed Artifacts using your PKE scanner.
There are 42 artifacts in total. Here is a complete guide.
I’m Picking Up A Signal… - 20
Obtain a 100% PKE scan on a paranormal creature.
With your PKE scanner out, get close to the ghost, slime, paranormal creature or thing and pull the right trigger. 100% means that the Tobin’s Spirit guide is fully updated and there is no missing info for that creature.
Back Off Man. I’m a Scientist – 40
Obtain 100% PKE scans for every paranormal creature.
There are 53 total paranormal ghosts and creatures in the game. Scan every single one you come across. I used this list of the Tobin’s Spirit Guide ghosts to figure out which ones I was missing. After I completed the game I just went back and loaded the check point for the one I missed and the achievement unlocked.
I Ain’t ‘Fraid of No Ghost! - 10
Trap a ghost.
It’s Slime Time - 20
Use the Slime Tether on 15 ghosts.
Before you can do this you will need the Slime Tether add on for your Proton Pack. You will be given this as you progress through the game.
Equip slime (down on D pad and left trigger to shoot a tether) All you have to do for this is slime tether ghosts to the ground or to the wall so that they slam into them. I got mine in the History Museum at the ‘ghost war’ check point. I recommend to shoot the wall first and then a ghost. This should slam the ghost to the wall immediately.
Repeat this 15 times. (you can do it to the same ghost to unlock this achievement)
Slime Dunk! - 15
Trap a ghost using the Slime Tether.
Wear a ghost down with your proton stream, then shoot a slime tether next to the trap and shoot the other end at a ghost to slam it into the trap.
Slam Dunk! - 15
Slam-dunk a ghost into a trap.
Required Upgrade: Upgrade your trap with the Slam Trap. (all upgrades are accessible from the pause menu)
Stasis Dunk! - 15
Trap a ghost using the Stasis Stream.
Before you can do this you will need the Stasis Stream add on for your Proton Pack. You will be given this as you progress through the game.
You need to wear a ghost out and make sure to knock him out, once knocked out change to the Stasis stream, freeze the ghost using the left trigger and drop a trap under the ghost to trap it.
Aim for the Flat Top! - 10
Eliminate a creature.
We Have the Tools! - 40
Purchase all available equipment upgrades.
Heat ‘Em Up - 20
Purchase all upgrades for the Proton Gun / Boson Blast.

Just walk up to a wall and fire your boson dart and the blast will knock you on the ground. (you get this weapon after the ‘Spin Cycle’ checkpoint)
I Looked at the Trap, Ray! - 20
Recover 20 of your own full ghost traps.
Kosher! - 10
Remedy a dubious food choice to make the bar mitzvah as orthodox as it can be.
When you are trying to catch Slimer in the dining room at the Sedgewick Hotel there is a ham on the main buffet table. Shoot the ham on the table grab it and slam it. When the ham explodes the achievement will unlock.
But the Kids Love Us! - 20
The children’s reading room has a story to tell, but it will take more than your eyes to see it.
I started on one side of the room and scanned all the walls. Inside the reading room is a little side room with a teddy bear sitting on a chair. Enter the room and scan the chair, bear and footprints leading back out into the room. I just scanned every hidden thing in the room: hop scotch, handprints, and teddy bears. Once I did that and left the room the achievement unlocked.
You Never Studied - 10
Keep your ears open to learn everything you can about the Civil War.
In the museum you will enter the cival war exhibit. Find all the audio tour boxes to interact with. Play and listen to all of them.
I’ve Quit Better Jobs Than This. – 20
Some ghosts had a real blowout in the Coat Room. Clean it up?
Once you return to Sedgewick after you turn the power back on, return to the Hotel’s entrance (outer lobby area) and look for a door on the left as you exit the lobby doors. Enter the room and equip the slime gun, clean all the black slime off the walls and ceiling. If your achievement does not unlock, take out your PKE scanner and survey the walls to make sure you got it all.
One down, on the Ground! – 20
Airborne coffins are an affront to gravity; use your Proton Pack to avenge Mother Nature!
Hedgebuster – 10
The hedge maze is a real eyesore; do some Protonic pruning.
Use the proton beam to set fire to all the bushes around the maze.
I Love You When You Rough-House! - 10
The tidy architectural office could use some Proton-based humbling.
Destroy the office where you fight a small horde of marshmallow minions.Trash the whole office, smash anything and everything in sight that will break, this includes windows, pillars, desks etc. The achievement will unlock when you leave the room.
Loans Paid Off - 10
More than $100,000 earned in Xbox LIVE. (ranked matches only)
On the Payroll - 10
Successfully complete one Xbox LIVE campaign.
Campaigns are made up of 3 levels with different game types. This can be done in either ranked or player matches.
Egon’s Guinea Pig - 10
Pick-up and use one of each power-up and equipment available in multiplayer. They are located in different spots on every map. If you pick it up use it, just collecting it will not unlock the achievement.

Trap over 50 ghosts in your Xbox LIVE Ghostbusting career.
Wanted! - 10
Defeat three Most Wanted Ghosts.
Most wanted ghosts show up sporadically during online play. If one of your team members destroys the ghost you still get credit for the defeat even if you didn’t help.
No Job Too Big - 10
Defeat all Most Wanted Ghosts. (ranked matches only)
I am told this achievement is not currently available and awaiting a patch. 2 of the ghosts needed to get this achievement will not show up. There are also certain tasks you (or some one you’re playing with) needs to complete in certain locations in order for a Most Wanted ghost to show up.
Most Wanted ghost Info:
Library (Reading Room, Basement Stacks, Twisted Stacks)
- The Book Of Pain: Complete any job in any of the Library levels.
- Captain of the Guard: Capture The Book of Pain and kill twenty paper enemies.
- Olga the Terrible: Capture the Captain of the Guard and complete five jobs in the Library.
- Dredge: Capture Olga the Terrible and complete ten Library thief jobs.
Times Square (Streets, Office, Rooftops)
- Smelly Ned: Complete five containments in Times Square maps.
- Dolnasky: Capture Smelly Ned and collect fifty power-ups.
- Grimgreave: Capture Dolnasky and kill twenty gargoyles and/or cherubs using slams.
- Binky: Capture Grimgreave and complete ten survivals on Times Square maps.
Museum (Rotunda, Mayan, Egypt)
- Grundel: Complete five Museum protections.
- Sharpshooter Bailey: Capture Grundel and capture fifteen civil war ghosts.
- The Maestro: Capture Sharpshooter Bailey and complete ten Museum survival jobs.
- Grand Pappy Sargassi: Capture The Maestro and complete fifteen jobs on Museum levels.
Cemetery (Graveyard, Altar, Lost Temple)
- Mad Mad Minimo: Earn $50,000 in any Cemetery job. Must be in a single match (survival recommended).
- The Darkest: Capture Mad Mad Minimo and kill fifteen black slime monsters.
- The Clawed Menace: Capture The Darkest and kill fifty Cemetery crawlers (spider like tombstone creatures).
- The Uprising: Capture The Clawed Menace and complete ten survival jobs in the Cemetery.
Any level except for Slime Dunk
- Rotten Slimer: Capture 10 slimers.
- Wee Slimer: Capture Rotten Slimer and win at least three Slime Dunks.
- Polar Slimer: Capture Wee Slimer and achieve twenty slim dunks on each of the Slime Dunk maps.
- Glutton Slimer: Capture Polar Slimer and complete 60 jobs.
Employee of the Month - 10
Be top earner in each Xbox LIVE job type. Earn more than anyone else in the whole campaign even if it’s just by $1 and the achievement will unlock. You must complete the levels fully otherwise it classes as a fail and the achievement won’t unlock.
Overachiever - 15
Get over $2,500,000 in Xbox LIVE, over 30 post-job awards, 50 jobs completed with a victory. (ranked matches only)

Gozer’s Most Wanted - 15
Successfully complete each Xbox LIVE job in every location.
I am working on this one right now. I printed out this Most Wanted Checklist to help keep better track of my games. I am creating my own ranked matches so I be sure to mark which ones I’ve completed successfully.
Job Modes:
- Survival – Survive all 10 waves on each map
- Destruction - All relics must be destroyed on each map.
- Containment - Full completion on each map.
- Protection - Finishing each round with extending each tower.
- Thief - You must win with at least 1 relic left on each map.
- Slime Dunk - Win a match.
Are….well….secret. Just play thru the game and these will automatically unlock. I don’t want to spoil every surprise.

- Grimgreave: Capture Dolnasky and kill twenty gargoyles and/or cherubs using slams.
- Binky: Capture Grimgreave and complete ten survivals on Times Square maps.
Museum (Rotunda, Mayan, Egypt)
- Grundel: Complete five Museum protections.
- Sharpshooter Bailey: Capture Grundel and capture fifteen civil war ghosts.
- The Maestro: Capture Sharpshooter Bailey and complete ten Museum survival jobs.
- Grand Pappy Sargassi: Capture The Maestro and complete fifteen jobs on Museum levels.
Cemetery (Graveyard, Altar, Lost Temple)
- Mad Mad Minimo: Earn $50,000 in any Cemetery job. Must be in a single match (survival recommended).
- The Darkest: Capture Mad Mad Minimo and kill fifteen black slime monsters.
- The Clawed Menace: Capture The Darkest and kill fifty Cemetery crawlers (spider like tombstone creatures).
- The Uprising: Capture The Clawed Menace and complete ten survival jobs in the Cemetery.
Any level except for Slime Dunk
- Rotten Slimer: Capture 10 slimers.
- Wee Slimer: Capture Rotten Slimer and win at least three Slime Dunks.
- Polar Slimer: Capture Wee Slimer and achieve twenty slim dunks on each of the Slime Dunk maps.
- Glutton Slimer: Capture Polar Slimer and complete 60 jobs.
Employee of the Month - 10
Be top earner in each Xbox LIVE job type. Earn more than anyone else in the whole campaign even if it’s just by $1 and the achievement will unlock. You must complete the levels fully otherwise it classes as a fail and the achievement won’t unlock.
Overachiever - 15
Get over $2,500,000 in Xbox LIVE, over 30 post-job awards, 50 jobs completed with a victory. (ranked matches only)

Gozer’s Most Wanted - 15
Successfully complete each Xbox LIVE job in every location.
I am working on this one right now. I printed out this Most Wanted Checklist to help keep better track of my games. I am creating my own ranked matches so I be sure to mark which ones I’ve completed successfully.
Job Modes:
- Survival – Survive all 10 waves on each map
- Destruction - All relics must be destroyed on each map.
- Containment - Full completion on each map.
- Protection - Finishing each round with extending each tower.
- Thief - You must win with at least 1 relic left on each map.
- Slime Dunk - Win a match.
Are….well….secret. Just play thru the game and these will automatically unlock. I don’t want to spoil every surprise.
