Being that San Francisco is fast becoming a gaming Mecca, a large Game Developers Conference (GDC) happens there once a year. The “powers that be” thought that this would be a perfect time for us, as a team, to come into the office for meetings and other shenanigans.
It’s been over a year since my first trip to the Ubisoft offices. The purpose of our last visit was to participate in a team photo shoot and to do a “meet and greet” with brand managers and other key Ubisoft people. After all, the team had changed, and a face to face with brand managers was long overdue.
This trip was somewhat the same. We had two days of various meetings with brand managers. We learned Ubi-secrets about upcoming titles and engaged in brainstorming sessions about our Frag Doll future. All I can say about that is… I am so excited for the coming year! I am looking forward to playing all the new games that are currently in the works and I’m stoked with the direction we are moving as a team.
This was my first event back from having my baby. Thanks to Your Shape Fitness Evolved and a little determination, I felt more than ready. I’m not 100%, but I’m close. I cannot yet travel w/out a baby in tow… therefore, the whole family came along for the meetings and GDC fun. Even though I couldn’t participate in all the after-hours-super-fun-times, it was nice to once again be included in our team’s activities.
I love that I work for the video game company that makes some of MY FAVORITE games of all time! The Ubisoft offices are visually stimulating. On every wall there are the hugest/coolest posters and graphics that I have ever seen. Every inch of the office reminds me that I am living the dream. I love the Ubisoft offices!! Every time I’m there, I am reminded how blessed I am to have this job. I feel like I’m apart of something great. That feeling is hard to generate on my own when I’m working from home.
It’s nice to go into the office and get a shot of motivation and excitement. I hope one day that we can make these San Francisco trips a more common occurrence.
