we came, we played, we conquered
Mar 15, 8:37 am

I just got back from the Frag Dolls vs. IGN match and I have to say, it was a quick one. We arrived promptly at the IGN building where they had a room set up with 8 xbox 360s, 4 on each side with our backs to the opposing team. We sat in those expensive high-end mesh office chairs with our nice individual flat screen monitors and Jinx even brought us these personalized joystick cap things for our controllers! Imagine a swimming cap for the top of your 360 joysticks. Now put our character faces in them and that’s what I’m talking about.

So while we were getting ready, Valkyrie was on the far right setting up the server. Brookelyn and I were on the far left trying to set up our XBL accounts set. Rhoulette was making sure everything was running smoothly, and Jinx was getting ready too - with the smack talking. When it was time to ready up, she was the first to pull out her guns with a “Ready up B*TCHES!!” into her mic. Our warm-up round was on Dry Dock. 3 of our opponents were in the room while one “mysterious” one was playing over LIVE. The Ringer perhaps? I guess he must have been because after checking the warm-up round stats (us winning of course), he was the only one who even pulled off a 1-1 kill/death ratio. Interesting. Maybe these guys would be a bit challenging. Then again, maybe not.

The next 3 games went by like a kid on summer vacation. Capture the flag on Bone Yard threw us off a bit because of their randomness of running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We pulled it together and won 2-1. We found one of them “lost” in our spawn playing Sharpshooter on Desert Gulch at which point Rhoulette started giving them tips and trying to coach them a bit. And they seemed a bit distracted by the beaches of Rocky Cove when we played Hamburger Hill because they couldn’t seem to hold the hill for more than 30 seconds. We got bored and started eating chips and salsa/guac while they respawned. By the end, their kill/death ratio seemed closer to .25. Needless to say, we won. I don’t know if it was their excuse of “getting the game late” or us eating chips & salsa during the game that threw them off, but there are no excuses especially when you guys were the ones that challenged us! They wanted a match and they got a good one.

Good game! Looking forward to the next match. hehe.
