SOCOM II = nausea
Oct 27, 6:49 am

It’s weird. The first time I ever played an FPS was when I played Quake II.  I was incredibly dizzy and no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the mouse keyboard movement down. I was all over the place and nauseous by the end. Then Halo came around and it was a miracle! I was able to coordinate these two movements of head vs. body and not feel sick!  I went back to a PC FPS and it was incredible.  It was as if I had suddenly developed the ability to play all sorts of FPS games!  Awesome!  But now I am on SOCOM II for PS2 and no matter how hard I try, I can not play more than 1 hour without getting nauseous. I can run and shoot fine - I’ve even gotten MVP on a couple of rounds, but for some reason by the end of my shooting spree, I have that “I’ve-been-reading-in-the-car feeling”. Ugh- it’s terrible and I have no idea why.  I can’t wait for Ghost Recon 2 so I can leave SII behind, considering it will be like SOCOM III (if there was one).

Finally beat Pikmin 2 last week. But that’s not the end. I only have 101 treasures out of 200 and I plan to get them all!! Muhaha. I am seriously addicted to that game. My guy friends look at me like I am insane. The fact that I find these tiny creatures so entertaining just perplexes them. In my attempt to get my girlfriends to game more, I actually tried introducing them to this game. I thought, “it’s easy, they’ll get it - no problem” but they weren’t impressed. They said it looked too complicated because of all the Pikmin running around. Sigh… oh well. We ended up playing Mario Party 4 instead. rasberry
