Game frustration: I think everyone knows what I’m talking about. You get on the latest XBL enabled game and you think you’ve connected to a game when… BAM! You get the message a gamer never wants to see. Connection Failed. Session no longer available. Halo 2’s blue screen of death/disconnectivity. A problem has occurred. Please restart your Xbox. WHAT?! Please restart your Xbox?! This last one drove me up the wall the other day. All I wanted to do was get in a few games of GR2 with my fellow Frag Dolls, but this error haunted me like last week’s scary movie. After an hour of connecting, dropping, and restarting my Xbox, I finally gave up. Sigh. Will try again tomorrow I guess.
At least I have my PC games. Actually, they’re not even mine. I’ve always been one of those “gotta get a good deal” people, so I rarely buy things at full price unless I’m desperate for the goods. Thank goodness for good friends who don’t wait for sales otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to utilize my 6800 card with Half-life 2. And all I have to say is wow, this game is graphically amazing. I was so impressed at how realistic the characters were animated – like how their eyes follow you around during dialogue sequences and just how they interact with you. I still have no idea what the story is about (since I never played any of the Half-life/CS games), but so far, it’s awesome. I guess I’ve been catching up with PC games lately because I recently hopped on Doom 3 online. Played a few rounds, but I have to say that after trying UT 2004 at Fry’s (of all places), Doom 3 was kind of slow! Although half the time I was accidentally team killing and I think I probably pissed off a bunch of players on my team because they started writing me nasty messages. Oops. Anyhow, I could definitely see myself playing more UT 2004 if I had more time.
Ah yes, I definitely need more time. I’ve been finding myself stressing about a lot of stuff lately.
-wanting to play more SC:CT (ie. Get better at it)
-needing to practice more GR2
-events in the upcoming weeks (Frag Dolls at Best Buy and E3)
-SW:ROTS : 37 days and counting
-life?
I could go on about SW:ROTS, but maybe I’ll leave it for another blog.
</end of brain picking… starting to digress>
