I’ve been partying a lot lately. Lots of crazy nights, staying out late, not being able to get up the next morning. But it’s not what you think. Did you really think I was the party girl type? I’ve actually been spending my sleepless nights at LAN parties! The month of October seemed to be the best month to have a LAN. With the release of Halo 3, lost friends seemed to be finding each other once again. They were willing to spend countless hours in the same room without showering while eating foods that definitely would not qualify as a meal. Either way, this month seemed to be bringing lots of people together in a good way.

Well, this past weekend was supposed to be my second Halo 3 LAN – 20+ freshly showered people, BBQ, snacks, etc. But something came up - my two best girl friends who had both bought pink DS’ this past month, wanted to have a DS Party – well, that’s what WE called it. Would DS LAN be inaccurate? I wasn’t sure. Anyways, my girl friends are somewhat n00bs to the whole “LAN” idea (one of them thought LAN stood for Live Action Network), so you can see how stoked I was that they were that excited to spend an entire night playing DS games. We invited some boys along and with 6 DS’, one for each person, we spent the entire night playing one multiplayer game after the other. We started off with Brain Age, followed by Mario Kart, Bust-A-Move, and Big Brain Academy. Oh, and speaking of Big Brain Academy, it was safe to conclude that the girls consistently finished at the top 3 and that one of our brains was still larger than all 3 of theirs combined.

After our brains were fried from all that thinking, we were eager to try out Pictochat. It’s amazing that I’ve had my DS for so many years now and have never tried Pictochat. Lame, huh? I expected 5 minutes of it would be entertaining enough, but it turned out the 6 of us (who were all sitting on the couch side by side), sat there for the next hour on Pictochat, not saying one word to each other and just drawing pictures and writing silly and sometimes even perverted (because boys will be boys) things on our DS’. I was laughing so hard that I think some unexplainable half laugh, half squeal sound came out of my mouth. It was rockin’ good times. Party on!
