Turtles, ooze, and a talking rat.  Remember these guys?  Barely being an adolescent in the 90s, I never thought I would see the day when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would become “cool” once again.  I guess today was that day for me.

I have to admit I had my doubts.  Would this be another silly, kiddish game with some button mashing, a silly storyline, and turtles running around hitting things?  As I picked up the controller to play a fight scene, I was reminded of Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox with it’s cool moves, flips, air stomps, and ninja weapons.  As I made my way through the levels by running across walls, acrobatically flipping off of bars, and bouncing wall to wall, I was taken back to Prince of Persia.  Every so often, there would be a cut scene with comic-book-style graphics as part of the storyline.  The gameplay itself was fast-paced, just the way I like it!

The best part about this game though is, of course, the turtles!  Pick your favorite color - red, purple, orange, or blue and get your specialty weapon with your special moves.  Not only can you rotate your character between the four TMNTs, but you can also pair up during fight scenes and do double the damage.

This game brings back a lot of 6th grade memories for me and I like it even more for that.  Cue the song!  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, heroes in a half shell - turtle power!!
