PAX incoming
Aug 25, 12:29 am

We leave for PAX tomorrow and I’m not at all ashamed to admit that I’m giddy with excitement. The only thing tempering my mood is that fact that I’m half-dead tired, but that’s alright. Planning always pays off with these kinds of things even if chaos inevitably makes up a large part of the equation as well.

We Frag Dolls are going to be doing a number of things this weekend and, much to my delight, most of it involves gaming. We’re going to be playing a lot of Black Arrow, Ghost Recon 2 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Granted, with GR and Splinter Cell, we’re demoing more than playing since they’re only builds, but still… two of the most exciting games for Q4 and we get to have our hands on them more than anyone else at the show! Muahaha

I’m definitely going to want to wander around to get peaks at as many tourneys as possible. I have a friend playing in the Warcraft 3 one on Saturday morning so I’ll have to be sure to cheer him on. Unfortunately I won’t be able to compete in any tournaments myself (it’s hard to get focused for competition when you’re attention is being pulled in a hundred different directions) but my girls will get to play and I’m happy to live vicariously through them (this time at least). ; )

I have such high expectations for PAX being a more gamer-friendly environment than E3. There won’t be nearly as many people nor as many loud, obnoxious game displays. E3 is exhausting simply to move around so when you actually aim to see a certain amount of things in a day, you’re churned out at the end of the day looking like a zombie. PAX should be much more manageable in size and with a higher percentage of true gamers. I don’t envy DoctorK for having to organize it, but sounds like my kind of party.
