Wii be Raving
Oct 10, 1:52 am

Frag Dolls has officially hazed me onto the team. I knew that demoing games was part of the job, but demoing on stage in front of over 1,000 people was a whole ‘nother story. That’s right! Day three as a working Frag Doll, I am “mic’ed up” and “queued up” for the show, and introduced as “First time demoing in front of a crowd this big, Pyra of the Frag Dolls!” (This didn’t help with the butterflies. I think I may have even blacked out for a second when he said my name.) But as I ran out on stage and high-fived the other three competitors, I saw the Wii controllers waiting to be wiggled and all the nervousness washed away.

I had only had one day of real practice with Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, but I was confident that I could beat the other three guys. Three, two, one, the countdown launches us into a mini-game called “Danse” which is kind of played like DDR (playing the beats and rhythms in sync with the music). The real contest was to see who could dance while keeping up a high score. Already, two of the guys are way off beat and falling behind, so it was down to me and the guy to my left. Much to my surprise, I notice that all of my dancing is starting to throw my game off track, so I stop moving for just a few seconds.

As I am trying to catch up to his score, he drops to the floor and starts to BREAK DANCE! WHAT THE HECK? Oh man I am so toast now, because he is still doing better than me AND bustin’ some serious moves. (Moves that I pretend to know in my head but come out totally wrong when I try to practice them in front of the mirror.) *Time’s Up* Did someone just really beat me at this game while twirling on the floor? That’s worse than losing to someone who plays with their eyes closed.

One thing’s for sure, I either need to learn some better moves for the dance floor or work on hand-eye coordination while flailing my arms and legs around. If we had played some Football or washed some Rayman underwear, I would have been the one spinning some sweet moves (aka rolling on the floor laughing). I am undefeated at underwear-washing.

Anyway, between you and me, I did some practicing on “Danse” and spanked booty the next time I played. Now I have a 320-note streak to be proud of.
