Presents Everywhere
Oct 12, 1:53 am

Okay seriously, I thought that the fancy new paycheck was the best perk of being a Frag Doll, but I’ve been proven wrong. Even traveling to play video games isn’t as nerdtastic as our best perk ever: Free stuff from sponsors! Games, shoes, and geekalicious hardware are but a few of the cool presents lying around my desk. Last week, I got an email from Jinx: Seagate is sending us each our very own external hard drive. She was sneaky and didn’t tell us which ones we’d be getting, so I did a little snooping around myself to learn more about this mystery present.

Their products look great, but the FreeAgent external drives are bar none the coolest. At first glimpse, they reminded me of Batman’s bat-mobile. You know, black, sleek, and totally action-packed. If it had a steering wheel, I might try to drive it around (Hmm, that’s a good idea). But even their pocket hard drives are cool (like the OneTouch 4 Mini that’s sort of a new cousin to the one Calyber wrote about in her blog “Ninety-Nine-Seagate-Energy”). I am a little jealous that the other Frag Dolls got pink ones, but getting one of those FreeAgents would certainly make up for it.

This is such a big deal for me because I am a STORAGE NUT! My 250 gig external hard drive is almost at capacity (I swear, sometimes I see it squirm like it’s about to explode). All of my games, pictures, music, movies, and FFXI screenshots are packed in there. In fact, when I tried to install Rainbow Six: Vegas, I was missing the required 7 gigs of space (Pathetic!). So I had to uninstall some other programs to get my game loaded. Yeah, I should have probably just invested in a 500 gig or 750 gig drive when I went shopping, but now that Seagate is hooking us up I’m just riding the wave until it arrives.

Don’t feel left out. YOU HAVE A SEAGATE HARD DRIVE, TOO! If you own an Xbox360 or PS3, deep inside your bundle of joy is one of Seagate’s special creations (the LD25 Series) buzzing like a good little worker bee to load all of your games on demand. Did you know that? (I didn’t.) And, now you can upgrade your PS3’s hard drive to Seagate’s whopping hunk-of-a 160 gig (See video tutorial). Not only does Seagate hold the key to my heart for PC storage, but it’s got a grasp on the entire gaming scene right now – in consoles, in computers, and even in pockets.

Soon enough, they’ll be everywhere – in every major mall across the country: Seagate’s Digital Experience Mall Tour was just announced this week.  The Frag Dolls have been invited to New York, Dallas, and Las Vegas to take part in hosting live GRAW2 tournaments and Naruto: Rise of a Ninja matches (Keep an eye on the Event Calendar for dates!). As much as we like to GET free stuff, we like to GIVE AWAY freebies, too. If you can give us a run for our money on either of these games, you might be walking away with one of these really cool mini hard drives. Not bad for a day’s play. Presents for everyone!
