I’ve probably been gaming online for over 5 years now. I have played on several different games throughout my online gaming career, and as time has passed things have evolved a great deal. For one thing, I have noticed a decline in a-holes harassing me and other people who seem or sound different. Granted, some online communities are worse than others. But in every game, there will be one guy that you just can’t stand.

The decline in online harassment is a great thing. One of the reasons why I think it has changed for the better is because of the female presence in the industry by teams like us, Girls of Destruction and PMS. Online, guys are getting used to the fact that there are girl gamers and they seem to be accepting it. They don’t make a big deal out of it and treat them as if they are “one of the guys”. This is freaking awesome! I don’t know if anyone else has had this anecdotal experience but it gives me hope for the future gamers of the world.

But for every 10 or more people I encounter online, there is that ignoramus who still harasses and starts trouble. The hard part for me is getting them to shut up. Now, I know arguing with them is basically a lost cause, but I would love to know some great intelligent come backs to the attacks I get. Things like, “you’re a stupid $^!#$” or “you fat #*&%! Get off this game and make babies!” are a few examples of the things I hear. So, I would love to ask the gamers out there, help Psyche shut these losers down and make them go crying to their mommies. Keep in mind, don’t use curse words or slander. Let’s see some fresh, new comebacks that have worked when you guys have gotten online and made a person shut up.
