Taste Test

Gamers are never satisfied. This is a fact. We can never have just one game, and when we do we get very easily bored with it. We are always looking to see what is coming out next so that we can plan ahead on the next game we’ll buy. This is where hype comes from. The anticipation of a game can sometimes be better than the game itself. Some games tend to live up to its standard and some games don’t. This holiday season we are going to see some games that have a lot of hype around them and its up to us to say if its worth it or not. Here are some of the games that are anticipated to be sweet and what I think of them:

Guitar Hero 3 – I’m pretty sure that most of the fans of Guitar Hero 1 and 2 are planning on getting Guitar Hero 3. But this time around things have changed, like the look of the characters and the look of the game. From my experience of playing Guitar Hero 3 at E3 and Digital Life I enjoyed playing it just as much as the previous two games. The note streak counter is cool because this time you can see how many notes you hit in a streak instead of having to wait until after the game is over. And the song selection looks much better than GH2. But I kind of miss how the older characters look as opposed to the new style, which looks more like 80’s metalish. Oh and Judy Nails has a super tight shirt in GH3 that looks like it’s going to pop off any second!  That’s rock for you!

Rock Band – This game is something that looks like so much fun, but it can put a damper on your wallet. The bundle includes a game, a wired guitar controller, a drum set and a microphone.  That will cost you a pretty penny; $169.99 to be exact. But is it worth that much? After seeing it at PAX and watching people play it, I’d say it’s worth it. If you can’t afford it on your own, get some of your friends together and have everyone chip in to buy the bundle.

Kane and Lynch - If your looking for a game with an in-depth storyline, than this game is for you. I became familiar with Kane and Lynch when Game Informer did a story on it in one of their issues. I got to demo it for the first time a few weeks ago, and I have to say that I was impressed. This is going to be one of those great single player games. If you like mature language, shooting up bad guys and even shooting up good guys this is the game for you.

Assassin’s Creed - After having the chance to play Assassin’s Creed at E3 I’ve been compelled to shout on top of the highest mountain about how awesome this game is—Visually stunning as well as super freaking fun to play! The things that Altair can do are jaw dropping. It’s a beautiful blend of stealth and acrobatics, and you have a variety of ways to take out the enemy. Oh! and don’t forget the fact that you can use the crowd to hide in. AWESOME!!

These are just a few of the games that are going to be released soon. Do you guys think they will live up to the hype?

Game on!
