Yes sir, you read it correctly! I’m learning French. Actually, when I was in the Dominican Republic going to school, I took a class to learn French (I had no choice); it was not as hard as I thought it would be. Since then, all of my French speaking skills have gone down the toilet. But once I found out that I was going to Montreal, I decided to get My French Coach for the DS. It’s such a freaking sweet game. Not only am I learning French, but I’m actually having fun doing it. When you first play the game, it evaluates your understanding of French. I got to skip 5 whole lessons because I have MAD skillz yo! So far, I am on lesson 8, and I’ve found that learning the higher numbers and conjugation stuff is a bit challenging. I also get to play whack a mole!! Woot, woot!!
My French Coach also has a phrasebook and a dictionary. This came handy when I wanted to say certain things in French. For example, I was in the cab and wanted a receipt. So, I got out my DS, went to the dictionary part of the game and typed the word in English. I then clicked on the word and listened to the little French coach say it, and then BAM! I said it to the cabby and he knew what was up.
It’s definitely a great game; I recommend it! I’m pretty sure there is a Spanish version of the game, and that’s cool too.
Game on!
