Well ladies and gentlemen, guess what? It happened again. A few days ago while I was getting ready to take on the day, I decided to get on my laptop like I always do to check the usual sites that I go on daily (e-mail, facebook, myspace, Frag Doll website, etc.). Then all of a sudden I get an automatic pop-up. I thought that was strange, but I didn’t think much of it. I went to my web browser and typed in the usual websites, and nothing happened. I could not log on to my e-mail or anything! It seemed that there was something blocking me from using the internet. I could go on aim and on google.com but that was all.
All of these signs equal to one thing. I have a nasty virus on my computer. I proceeded to freak out and try to eliminate the threat by doing a virus scan to remove whatever was on my computer. This took hours because I had to download it via aim from Hobb3z which took a while. But after it found a lot of crap lurking in my computer it seemed to have gone too far for repair. The next step was an obvious one that was time consuming which was to reinstall EVERYTHING! I asked a few people from IRC if this was the only thing I could do at this point, and it seemed so.
So, I began to reinstall my operating system and the drivers for my computer. Luckily, I have a sweet hard drive, 500 gigabytes of memory which contain all of my important word documents, files, pictures, music. This is the second time that my Seagate hard drive saved my life. I am pretty sure that if I didn’t have it I would be on the verge of tears (it’s happened when my internet was down). Well, I’ve learned an important lesson: Always back-up your stuff! Never think that you’re safe because the internet has no mercy for the PC, no matter who you are.
