After our win at CPL Dallas on Rainbow Six Vegas, I jetted off to a place that I have not been for a long time: the Dominican Republic. It has been 4 years since I visited my country of origin and this was the first time that I was spending the holidays there instead of New York City. It’s no surprise that when I got there I felt like this wouldn’t be the Christmas that I’m used to because the moment that I got off of the airplane I felt the HEAT. I had to immediately rip off my sweater in fear of a heat stroke because DANG, it was HOT! But it’s always like that, even in December. I then made my way outside the airport and met up with my parents.
I would have to say that is was one of the best Christmases yet. Not only did I get to see all of my family members (you know big families, it takes days to visit them all), but I also got to meet some new friends and introduce them to the wonders of the Nintendo DS. Although I was experiencing gamer withdrawal from not playing my recent favorite games: Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, Guitar Hero II, Zelda Twilight Princess and Wii Sports, I still had my trusty DS. Ahhh yes the beauty of handheld systems. The best part was that my other family members who also flew down there from New York had a DS so it was multiplayer DS during vacation commute. Our game of choice was, of course, The New Super Mario Brothers. I did pretty well against everyone except for my little sister. She has mad Luigi skills. What can I say? Great gamers run in the family
Here are a few pics from the Christmas party and Christmas day at the Beach, Gaming included:
We also played some Brain Age and Big Brain Academy, which are very very fun. Warning to those who want to go against a Frag Doll on Brain Age. Seppuku will totally kick your booty! She is a super Math Whiz. She had to help me finish my game…
