Non-gamers don’t realize what a video game can do to a person. They just think that it’s something that is unrealistic and childish. Some say that playing video games is a waste of time. The problem with people that think this is they haven’t found that one game. What do I mean by that one game? I mean the game that gets your heart pumping fast and hard. It gets your adrenaline racing through your body because you feel that you’re in that fight or flight situation. It’s do or die and there really can only be one winner and you want it to be you, because you will be the one getting the glory at the end. This is something people experience when they play games that are truly worth getting. Splinter Cell Double Agent is one of these games and this is what I experienced a few days ago.
Playing as a spy is something that not many people can master right away. You must be stealthy or your lives will be depleted within a few minutes of the match. Teamwork is not only necessary but essential. Doing your own thing and not communicating will hurt you because you have to let you fellow spies know where the enemies are and where you are going to hack. And one of the most important things is to know your environment, because there is always that one vent that you manage to jump into with the RB button that saves your life and helps you get the mission done.
I knew what the essentials of the game as a spy were and that I had to be careful. I took my time hacking the yellow and red terminals in motorway 90. I kept out of sight and when I saw danger coming I would flee for my life. But when I saw an enemy using a drone searching for me I saw it as a perfect chance to take my enemy out! So I quickly got behind the merc and grabbed his neck. Right before I killed him I let him know that he just got owned! I then quickly made my way under the vents of the red terminal and found myself in front of the green terminal. I only needed a few more seconds to hack and I got it! Now the hard part was getting it back to the base. One of my fellow spies was already completely taken out so it was a 2v3. We were outnumbered. I quickly but cautiously made my way back to the spawn and then ran when I saw that I was spotted. I climbed the fence and took a few shots to the body from one of the mercs. Luckily I carry the syringes, or I would not have been able to get the last file to the extraction point and win the game. THANK YOU SYRINGES!
