One of the items on my “things to do before I die” list has to include breaking a record. Being able to do something extraordinary takes skill and determination. If you don’t believe that you can do it then it won’t happen. Well, on March 11th I just might be able to cross one item off my list. Guinness World Records is having an event here in New York City where they will be recording record-breaking moments. Not just any kind of records, gaming records! If you’re not familiar with the UK Frag Dolls coverage of the London event, Guinness World Records dedicated an entire book to video games.
What’s going to be going on at this event, you might be asking? Well, it’s going to be all about breaking Guitar Hero III records. Ah yes, one of my favorite games. There will be some pro Guitar Hero players attending, including Chris Chike aka “iamchris4life” who has amazingly awesome skills. Also, the creator of Guitar Hero, Kai Huang, will be there and yours truly, Psyche aka “pwns mad n00bs FD.” Woot, woot!
Some of the records that will be attempted will be Six Person Team High Score and Longest Multi-Player Marathon (I get to be a part of this!!). It’s time we make gaming history!
