One of the benefits of being a Frag Doll is essentially working for one of the most (if not the most) amazing and talented video game developers in the industry, Ubisoft! It’s pretty darn hard not to love Ubisoft when they develop games such as Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Splinter Cell and especially my favorite series, Ghost Recon. The most recent installment of the game came out well over a year ago and is still a fan favorite for the 360. This is expressed by die hard Recon fans and the millions of copies sold in stores.
Looking back to before I was a Frag Doll, I remember getting my copy of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter the first day it came out. After getting my hands on it, I ran home as fast as I could (well, I was not in good shape so I took some breaks while running, lol) and unwrapped that sucker to get online. One of the best parts of buying a game is getting online to see who got it first. I mean bragging about having the game first is fun, right?
After playing GRAW, I saw what the Xbox 360 is capable of and how Ubisoft took the Recon series to the next-gen level. Amazing and beautiful graphics, along with intense and action-packed gameplay, is what made this game popular amongst Xbox 360 owners. This game also proved that it can make it in the tournament scene – GRAW was added to the WSVG game titles for competition and impressed a lot of people with its gameplay. Now, a new installment to the series will be coming out soon but the question is how will they improve on a monster of a game? While looking up information on GRAW 2, I found some awesome vids on the Game Invasion site.
According to developers, they improved the game by:
1. Taking much of the feedback that was given from the 1st GRAW game and using it in GRAW 2;
2. Adjusting what people didn’t like from GRAW and changing it in GRAW 2;
3. Upgrading some if the features (like being able to pull up the cross com in full view);
4. Making enemy AI much smarter – enemies will advance when they have an opportunity to engage you. (Uh oh, watch out!)
5. Adding real day-and-night time cycling to make the game more realistic;
6. Implementing “Depth Sprite” - the ability for smoke not pass though buildings. This might not seem like a big deal but it does make a difference once you play a game that does not have Depth Sprite.
All this, and much more, is added to GRAW 2 to make it one of my new highly anticipated games of 2007. For more info on GRAW 2 (such as screenshots, gameplay, and previews, check it out on Game Invasion.
