Bring Back the Fun
Oct 28, 1:48 am

You know, being a hard-core competitive gamer is awesome and all, but once I finished the MLG season playing Rainbow Six: Vegas, boy did I feel burnt out. It got to the point that I didn’t even want to look at a shooter game anymore. The thought of getting online made me lazy to get up and press the power button on my Xbox 360. I’ve been feeling like this for the past few weeks since MLG Vegas wrapped up. I think it is because I have had prolonged exposure to gaming at times when I didn’t want to get on to play. Some may call me crazy, but there is a big difference between getting online because you have to practice and getting online to play for fun. It’s just like with any sport or activity; if you do something that you enjoy, you will perform well on it. This makes sense because I usually do my best when I am LMAO online. It was the fun part of gaming that I had to get back in touch with.

In order to gain my fun factor back I decided to get on and play with my Hobb3z. Interestingly enough, he was also not up for playing!  He was feeling the burnt out effect just like me. But I forced him (that’s what GFs do) and told him that we would have fun and not take the game so seriously. We both got on Halo 3 and played some social slayer. From the first game we began laughing and having fun while literally owning noobs (tee hee! I had to say it). Even when we lost we still had fun! Overall, for not playing the game in such a long time we managed to rack up on killing spree’s, double kills, triple kills and kill joys. It was nice getting back in touch with the fun factor of gaming and not having to worry about how well I did or anything like that. Although I was still trying to compete with Hobb3z on who would get the most kills each round, it was friendly competition. Ohh well, at least I beat him on assists. What can I say? I’m clutch!!

See you all on Halo 3 and soon Guitar Hero 3!
