It’s been a while since we’ve posted one of these, due to the insanity of PAX, our Casting Call, and a bunch of other events...so, without further ado, here is our next installment of “Ask A Doll!” Enjoy!
When will I get my 360 back? On a more serious note, do you have any tips for keeping an Xbox 360 alive longer?
The best advice I could give you would be to treat you 360 like a delicate piece of equipment. Make sure you keep it in an open area to avoid overheating. I know most of us are used to the first Xbox which could almost be thrown out of a window and survive, but the 360 seem to need a bit more TLC.
Who will be the next Frag Doll at PAX? I know you got the answers already! Will there ever be a Canadian Frag Doll team? What is your favorite beverage and snack with gaming? Do you ladies stretch before entering a hardcore gaming session? Do you ladies like paintball?
Having Canadian Frag Dolls would be so cool! Still, being the U.S. Frag Dolls, we also count as the North American Frag Dolls and now that we are made up of a team of 9, I’m pretty sure we will be giving our neighboring country some love soon in future events. My Favorite snack and beverage for gaming would have to be Sour Patches and Gatorade! A strange combo, I know, but very tasty and refreshing. Before gaming hardcore, I do sometimes stretch my hands and crack my thumbs, which loosens the money-makers pretty well. I’m pretty sure that I can speak for the other girls in saying that we love paintball. I’ve always wanted to do a FD paintball match to the death, so who knows if there are any requests for it? I’m down!
What are some of your gaming pet peeves? Sweaty controller? Headset broke? Disc error?
Anything! OMG, campers and stoopid noobs. You know who they are. The people who hide in a corner and wait for you with the cheesiest gun in the game, after which they talk about how much they killed you. Oh, and I can’t forget about lag. Boy, do I hate lag; it gets me in a bad mood and makes me want to break things. Rawr.
You practice for competition quite a bit - I didn’t really know how much until recently. Anyway, my question: how do you do switch off from that mindset, and how difficult is it?
Once your used to doing it, switching on/off becomes natural. We go from the mindset of being focused/attentive to relaxed/at ease. Its all about training your brain to code switch.
Will the Frag Dolls kick butt in Chicago? I already know the answer, but I’m bored so I thought I would ask any way.
Of course! Previous to Chicago, we’ve been doing well at the events, coming close to the championship time and time again (we have placed 17th more than once). Nevertheless, we want to prove that we are a great competitive team and can make it to the Top 16. We feel that it will happen this time.
I have a question that will take you way back in time, lol. I am starting an all-girl clan for GRAW2 because my old clan leader was a male and we didn’t see eye to eye. I was not getting the respect I deserved, considering I was supposed to be co-leader. No one really knew who I was; the leader took all the credit for recruiting and clan match setups. In actuality, he wasn’t doing jack; I was. When I tried to get to know the new and pre-existing members, they would talk over me and, as most men gamers do, ignore me. The only reason they would try to get to know me was for the simple fact that I was a girl. So, I took myself out of the clan and started an all-girl clan, considering I had about 8 competitive females who did not have clans and wanted to join one with me. My problem came about when I started recruiting. Girls, as you know, are a dime a dozen on GRAW2 – some are in clans and don’t want to leave or some don’t want to join one at all. How did the Frag Dolls go about finding females for the clan? Are there certain websites, forums or games I should look for?
The Frag Dolls is more of an occupation than a clan. We were recruited by Ubisoft using forums, Craigslist, XBL, etc., but since you’re starting a clan I would advise using Myspace and posting a bulletin about your clan. Also, if you’re online, try checking out some opti-match rooms because you might run into a girl or two - you never know. Spreading the word helps. Another option would be looking for GRAW2 forums on a search engine and looking for girls there. If PMS can find hundreds of girls, then I’m sure you can find some too. Good luck!
If you could go back in time, which event in history would you like to witness?
There are so many different places in time I would go to! If I had to choose one in particular, it would be England during the Shakespearean era. I would go to the Globe Theater and see the plays live. I would sit in the pit with the peasants and throw tomatoes at performers who were bad. It would be sooo much fun! Except for the black plague; I would try to avoid that.
I have a question. I like to party. Do you have a webcam?
I do like to party and I do have a webcam! Why do you ask?? (Playing dumb to avoid stooooopid question...)
Do you use any kind of extra hardware, or is the good old keyboard/mouse or console controller good enough for ya?
When it comes to gaming, keeping it simple is best. I don’t use any super grippers or special controllers. Even on PC, I have a regular 10-dollar mouse that I play Quake 4 with. (Yes, I sometimes play Quake 4 now - thank you Dell XPS!)
I had a question about the female outfit in Splinter Cell: Double Agent. How do you get it? Almost everyone I see has it.
I’m pretty sure its available as DLC for the Xbox 360. For a while, we were the only ones that had it. (Tee hee, you bet we showed off!) As for the Playstation 3 version, it should be in the game already; its just a matter of unlocking it.
Have you guys played online while being sick (such as a cold, fever, etc.) and, if so, do you guys lose at any point of the game?
Ohh yes. I remember we had practice once while I had a fever. I could not let my team down by not getting on, so I focused as best I could to work well with them. I’m pretty sure we have all gotten on while ill. As for performance - well, being sick does make you play worse than you usually do, especially since you want to rest and relax.
Say there was this new scientific research that proved dog poo to increase your focus and mental endurance in a healthy and natural way, which would ultimately make you a better video game player. Would you eat it? Even if for nothing else, just to say that you’ve eaten dog poo?
LMAO! This has to be the funniest question yet. If I say no then I’m dumb for not doing it, but if I say yes then I will be called a doggie poo eater. I think I would say...yes, but I would never admit to it and would carry tons of mouthwash with me. OMG, I cant believe I said that! Eeewwww. DARN, CALY!
