I’m sure most of you have read my blog in which I scorned lag and explained how I had to endure it for the past few weeks. It was a very hard time in my life… ok, I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill, but for a gamer who concentrates mostly on online gaming it’s an important part of my life. I have never been a stranger to lag and I am sure everyone has gone through it but I truly think that it plagues me the most. I don’t know whether it’s because I live in a highly populated area or because I just have rotten lag luck. But it pisses me off a lot!
Finally my local cable company came to my house to see what the problem could be. I woke up bright and early to make sure the cable man didn’t think I wasn’t home (it happened last time and I was bumped). I had to wait from the hours of 8 to 12 noon. At around 11:30 the cable guy arrives and I was relieved; I thought for a second that he had come and gone without even calling. So he began to do a whole bunch of tests to my internet to see what could be wrong. After doing a whole bunch of stuff that I didn’t understand he told me that my internet seems to be fine. My reaction was “HOW COULD THIS BE?!” I seriously thought that my lag was in my head and that I was actually crazy. It was terrible. Thankfully he still replaced the splitters and cables all over the apartment because he assumed that they might be causing the lag problem. I thanked him and waited until that night to test my connection out.
When it came time to get on GRAW I began to connect to the internet and did so with no problem. Then I hosted a room with about 8 people and had no problem. I was so happy that I would have done back flips if I could. Finally the lag monster is gone! It had to be the old cables or splitters slowing it down because I noticed a big difference. I saw it on my screen and in my skillz. Now I am able to host rooms and play better and not get as frustrated as I usually do. Yay! No more lag complaints from me, well at least for a while. See you online gamers!
