A Look Back: Frag Doll Edition Part 1
Nov 15, 8:50 am

It feels like it was such a long time ago when I and Calyber were chosen to be the new Frag Dolls. But it’s now been almost two years and we are no longer the new dolls on the block. This became even more so when the second casting call was going on. It was a bit strange being apart of the group to choose the final girl. That had to have been one of the hardest moments of my life. Choosing between all of these wonderful women that could all equally be a great add on to the team. Although I must say it did make me feel tons better that we chose two (I less than three Mischief and Pyra!).

Ever since I have been a Frag Doll, my life has changed drastically. I remember telling my parents about me trying out for the team. At the time I was about 19 yrs old. They honestly thought it was a joke. That there was no way that someone could make money from playing video games. But I told them that if I didn’t go to California for the finals that I would regret it for the rest of my life and I don’t want to blame them from holding me back from something that could be one of the best experiences of my life (yes I used the guilt trip). Fortunately it worked! I got to go and meet people who I would come to admire and learn from. Especially since I was the youngest one there.

The thought of being chosen for this job while I was at the casting call hardly crossed my mind. I think the reason why I thought this was because I didn’t want to set myself up for disappointment and also because all of the other girls there seem to be sure shoe in’s for the job. I was pretty confident on my game for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, but when it came to Halo 2 I was not too confident with only 2 weeks of semi-hardcore gaming on it. So I decided to maintain the attitude of being myself and having fun while at the casting call. This was the first time that I was out of the state by myself without my parents so I wanted to make the best of it.

To be continued…
