Iggy Pop, Hard Drives and Dodge Ball!
Aug 06, 7:00 pm

That’s right folks! The final stop for the Frag Dolls on the Seagate Download Fest tour was anything but boring! The event began much as the last two had, but with a pleasant twist! Shedevil (or Faith), one of my fellow Frag Doll candidates from last year’s tryouts, came along to help pwn some BK’s in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 shootouts.

Along with Rhoulette and Brookelyn, we started off around 1PM taking on anything and everything that came into the Seagate tent. Just to make it fair, we even had one Frag Doll on the mic and only three of us actually playing. The cool part about these events for me is not only getting to hang out with Seagate, but also getting to check out the bands.  We got to spend part of the time playing with and challenging them. One of the awesome bands that we hung around with at all three events was MuteMath. Greg, the guitarist, has honorary Frag Doll status! He would sometimes fill in for us when we needed a break.

Let me tell you, these events can get crazy! Beer, music and video games can make for some rowdy people! Whether it’s intense dodge ball fights with the Seagate beach balls, or some epic Frag Doll challenges, there’s never a dull moment! The end of the day for me always draws a fight in my mind about what to do - the best bands are always the last two, and I was trying to decide which one to see. In this case, Iggy Pop and The Killers were about to play.  I was sooo tired after nine hours of pure pwning! This time Morgan was the voice of reason and made it very clear that it’s part of a good Frag Doll education that we at least catch *some* of Iggy Pop’s set. To my surprise, it was AMAZING! But not Christmas morning amazing, more like watching your brother get grounded amazing. Part of you is horrified, but the majority is watching like your life depends on it. I couldn’t tell you one word that he sang, or even if he was trying to enunciate, but what I can tell you is that Rock’n Roll is just that for Iggy – Bodily rocking and rolling all over the stage. I can only hope Seagate will continue to sponsor future events like this. It was truly a blast anyway you look at it.
