Back in January I sold my original DS.  There was a very sorrowful blog written about the whole business, but the summary is this: I ordered a white DS on import, which I later learned was backordered.  A few weeks later the DS Lite was announced so I decided to wait until March and get one.  Then in March I found out it wouldn’t come out in the US until May 7.  Then I learned that May 7 was actually the date to lift the embargo on information and it actually was coming out in June.

CURSE YOU NINTENDO! Why must you make me love you, and then cause me such pain?

As June 11 approached, I tried to maintain a shell of skepticism.  I will face the hype.  I will allow it to pass over me and through me. And where the hype has gone there will be nothing.  Only I will remain.

I will tell you now that I am a failed Bene Gesserit.  When all signs pointed to June 11, with big flashing lights and symphonics, I succumbed and pre-ordered a DS Lite.  Though I failed the test, I would console myself with a sleek new sidekick in the color I had wanted in the first place, with screens that glow with the brightness of twin suns.  My suffering could be greater.

The 11th came, and I made my pilgrimage.

Tokens of the brightest heavens, I obtained that day.  Enlitenment, if you will.  New Super Mario Bros, the secrets of which Seppuku has previously delved into, I took as the sword at my side; Big Brain Academy as the feather (or heavy stone, preferably) in my cap.

I have no other real goal with this blog.  I just wanted to throw my love out to the world.  After 6 months of waiting I am reunited with the handheld I so ferociously support, and I can tell you the last 2 weeks have been glorious.  That is why there’s been no blog.  My free moments were filled with increasing the weight of my brain, and squashing unfortunate goombas.

Also, tomorrow night I’m holding a community play night on Far Cry Instincts: Predator.  We’re going to play some of the best user-made maps and some of the standard ones, and generally just have fun.  Check the forums for more info as it comes.  Yes.  Expect me to be playing my DS between rounds.
