I Don’t Want To Come Back Down
Sep 07, 6:07 am

I came home from PAX, and I’ve been walking around in a haze of sleep depravation and disbelief ever since. I’m home, and PAX is over. Say it isn’t so, or at least say that we’ll be at another such event soon. I think I’m addicted to them.

We went expecting to do well enough in the Black Arrow tournament. After all, as soon as it came out, we were pounding the maps, along with hundreds of thousands of other hardcore Rainbow Six 3 fans. I really hoped we would win. I knew that would be the icing on the provebial cake of getting to go in the first place, but I was trying not to get my hopes up too high just in case.

That tournament, while chaotic at first, was the most fun I’ve had in a very long time. It will doubtless be the high point in my gaming memory for years to come… unless I get a chance to take some gamers to school during the next tournament! Of all the gaming we did over the weekend, that was the best. The only other thing that came close was when we got to play Halo 2.

Oh, and Halo 2 is teh r0x. I’ve never played the original, but I jumped at the chance to try it out along with the rest of the girls. I’d just like to point out that, even though I was far from the only one who was new to Halo, we did really well. As Frankie (that sexy Bungie guy) said on the Penny Arcade forums, “The Frag Dolls played against a squad that included two ringers from Microsoft, one of whom plays on the highest ranked team on the Halo 2 beta.” The fact that, against that team, we won… well hopefully it speaks for itself.

Every time I think about last weekend, I get a warm feeling. I’m never going to forget it… and hopefully the people we played against in Black Arrow will remember it just as clearly!
