Dell and the Art of Kicking Butt
Jul 20, 7:06 am

There have been big happenings in Frag Doll headquarters.  Rumors may have leaked out over the past few months, but today the secret is out.  The Frag Dolls are proud (thrilled, ecstatic, foaming at the mouth) to announce our new sponsorship agreement with Dell.  We first worked with Dell at CES earlier this year and it was love at first sight.  That is, we loved their hardware enough to drool on it and cause severe electrical problems, and they loved that we loved it, even though drooling is kind of gross if you’re not a puppy (or Calyber).  We’re stepping out in style with brand new XPS laptops, and we’re stepping up our PC game!  Which brings me to the next point.  Ahem.

It’s been more than a year since we initiated new blood into the Frag Dolls team.  That’s been more than enough time to haze Calyber and Psyche, and now we’re just a little bored. We need some new blood to fetch the ice cream… oh, and to kick butt and take names in videogames, travel to exotic locations (New York! Chicago! Seattle! Louisville...), write articles about gaming, interview industry insiders, and promote fellow XX chromosomed gamers.

Thanks to our new sponsorship by Dell, we’re lowering the drawbridge of the Frag Doll fortress to find the perfect new member for our team.  If you think you have what it takes to be a Frag Doll (experience as a space ninja a plus! - ed) check out the new casting call page for details on how you can apply for the team.

This marks the first time the Frag Dolls have expanded our ranks beyond seven members, and with Dell’s help we’re about to do it in suitably glamorous style.  Scratch the red carpets, that’s so last generation.  We’re going to hold the casting for our new teammate during our 3rd birthday party at the 2007 Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, WA where an estimated 30,000 gamers will be in attendance.  Final candidates will be flown in for a grueling session of gameplay and limelight, and we’ll find who can take the heat, and who gets all melty at the prospect.  There will be a stage involved. And interviews. And cameras. And, above all, intense gaming gauntlets.

Interested applicants in the Dallas area should check out this year’s QuakeCon August 2-5 in Dallas TX. We’ll be partying at the event with Dell, and we come bearing XPS. If you’ve got the skills, the drive to be a Frag Doll, and (this is important) you’re in the area, come show off! This is the only live event we’ll be recruiting at before the finals at PAX, so it’s a great opportunity to show us what you’ve got.

Applications for the team close on August 6 so don’t procrastinate.  They say time is the fire in which we burn.
