With the holidays finally over and done, we all start to settle down from the hassle of relatives and being stuffed from the Christmas ham.  I decided to hit up on some games that I got for Christmas, starting with Tekken 6. Now I haven’t played any fighting games since Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis, so I knew I was going to be extremely rusty. Other than the cobwebs on my fighting stick, I had always lost to my nephews on this game as well. I knew it was going to be interesting experience.

My friend Gavin loves fighting games and of course he decided to challenge me to a duel in Tekken 6. The winner was to receive a hug.  With all the previous Tekkens that have released, I never got to experience the transformation of the characters or the game play but I knew it was going to be a fun experience to test out my gaming skills. I also knew I had to do a little research of what this Tekken was all about…

Storyline

“The 5th King of the Iron Fist Tournament has ended with Heihachi Mishima missing and the eventual winner being Jin Kazama.

Jin Kazama then assumes the role as head of the Mishima Zaibatsu and begins using the special Tekken force units for propaganda and manipulative acts all over the world. Eventually many people become upset by this and it starts riots and eventually war amongst nations.

With the world now at war, many nations lose their power and the Mishima Zaibatsu declares itself as an independent nation.

The Mishima Zaibatsu is intent on conquering the world with only G Corporation to stand in its way. People around the world see G Corporation as a savior and G Corporation offers a price on Jin Kazama to anyone that can bring him in alive.

Just as anyone could have expected, the announced for the 6th King of Iron Fist Tournament was under way.

Those that want to make a name for themselves, those that seek money, and those that want revenge. Many different ideals and goals gather while the Tekken 6 tournament is unveiled.”

The new added characters

Zafina: A female who will have moves Harada likened to that of a “spider” and who enters the tournament to prevent the clash of the “two evil stars.”

Leo: A German who is intended to be a character who can be played by beginners and experienced players alike. The death of Leo’s mother prompts Leo to begin investigating the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Miguel: A Spaniard with a passion for fighting, but no real discipline. Miguel wants to exact revenge upon the death of his sister at her wedding.

Bob: An American who is known as a martial arts genius. Due to being unable to defeat larger opponents however, he disappeared from the fighting world, determined to increase his weight and power while still maintaining speed. Bob enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to test his new skills.

Azazel: The final boss of the game.

NANCY-MIS47J: A hidden sub-boss, whose story says she is an upgraded version of the Jacks for the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Lars Alexandersson: He has been described as a “strange foreigner” and a “rebel”.

Alisa Bosconovitch: She is an android created by Doctor Bosconovitch was able to sprout wing-like jets from her back allowing her to briefly fly at great speed during fights, sprout chainsaws from her arms.

Through trial and error, from the new characters to the old, I finally found the character that I could dominate with- and most importantly- kick Gavins A$$. Zafina is the character that moves differently than any other character in the game, it’s more of a spider/snake movement which confused my opponent Gavin. So I was able to take advantage and dominate him…Bwaaaa HAHAHA!!!
