PAX East! The Experience of a Lifetime
Apr 06, 5:08 pm

Well, it is officially sad to say that PAX East is finally over.  As this was their first time in Boston, I was really looking forward to not just the city in general but meeting the new cadets.  It was amazing to see what other games are coming out this year and to just have fun in general, so that all was a bonus .
As a Frag Doll I was assigned to our Ubisoft games to demo for the public such as the new RTS game R.U.S.E and Red Steel 2.

R.U.S.E
R.U.S.E is one of the most anticipated RTS games coming out on the xbox360/PS3/PC with a release date of June 8th. I am really looking forward to this game because it’s so different than any other RTS game, you actually trick your enemies to their doom! Unlike the RTS’s before, the environment plays an important part in R.U.S.E, so be sure to place your buildings in the proper places or else you just may get dominated.

Red Steel 2
One of the best Wii games I have ever seen has to be Red Steel 2. It is the first-person-action-game where players become a swordsman and find themselves in an edgy city in the middle of the desert armed with just a sword and gun.
The first game ever designed exclusively for the wii Motion Plus, Red Steel 2 control gives you precise 1:1 movement. This means, swing your Wii mote like you mean it! And be sure to stretch as well.

You would think that demoing would be pretty easy to do, but it gets hard to explain a game over and over to complete strangers with a bunch of demo stations to work with.  Toss in constantly losing one’s voice and having to make sure everything is always running right and it can be a hassle at times.  Lucky for us we were accompanied by our lovely cadets that put their 100% into helping and oh man, all of them did a fantastic job being where they were needed. Thank you ladies! You were absolutely awesome! That wasn’t just all we did at PAX East though; we got to enjoy everyone’s company at our very own Frag Doll party at the Estate Nightclub. Which was such a fun time that I certainly didn’t want to leave, but they made me.

As a female gamer, I have always wanted to be a great competitor in video games but that wasn’t all that I really wanted.  I have always dreamed of being a great coach someday and want to help others succeed in what they love to do: “gaming”. Before I was a Frag Doll I coached a team on World at War, and now Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 called Team V Gaming. I was so excited to actually meet the majority of my team in Boston, which was interesting because most of them I have never seen before. After meeting them I directed to them to the Tritton / Gunnar booth to play in the FFA Call of Duty MW2 Tourney, so I could see them play under pressure with prizes involved. Well, safe to say they did very well: vG KillTrigger, vG Moe Milla and vG Peacekeeper won the matches with ease. I don’t know how to describe the feeling I had for them. I guess you could say I am very proud coach, and love to see their hard work paying off. 

Now with the first PAX of the year at a close  we look forward to the next one, PAX Prime in Seattle on September 3rd - 5th. So be there or you’re going to miss out on the action!
