I knew there was something different the second I saw them, a couple walking side by side holding hands with their belt buckles gleaming in the sunlight. The guy was wearing an Xbox buckle and his girlfriend had the head of Master Chief shining proudly at her waistline. The newest craze in gaming was revealed to me at this moment, gaming belt buckles. Since then I have been browsing around the mall and online to see all the different buckles and options so I can join in on the craze.

I couldn’t believe the huge variety of gaming belt buckles on the market. So far I have come across Gears of War, Halo, Transformers, Xbox, Zelda, Pacman, Atari, Kingdom Hearts, Mario, Donkey Kong, Nintendo, Bioshock, Rock band, Metal Gear Solid, Call of Duty, Batman, etc. Not only did I find buckles in at least 5 different stores in the mall, I also found a kiosk dedicated to belt buckles only. The employees at the kiosk were more than willing to special order buckles for me also. The belt buckles I found can range from 10 dollars to 500 dollars, in all different shapes and sizes. I’m sure at the next event there will be a lot of people representing their personalities and their favorite games through their belt buckle fashion, I know I will be!

The belt buckle that really caught my eye was the Egokast. The Egokast is a buckle that has a 3.5” LCD screen which plays videos in AVI, MPEG4 and MP3 formats, with a SD card slot to input the movies or clips you have chosen. That belt buckle is the one that truly amazed me! I know I will have to get myself a few buckles to show my personality and games that I love. If anyone finds anything cooler than what I have found, I am always looking for new ideas!
