Home Sweet Home
Nov 25, 10:00 am

Have you ever been away from home for a long time?  If you have, you will know exactly what I am talking about and if not, here is what it’s like.  I am currently living in North Carolina, but I am originally from Florence, Oregon.  As much time as I spend in NC it will never be home, and so, I am excited to be going home for the first time in a long while. There is nothing like the feeling of going home and seeing the new changes and the things that haven’t change. I think it gives you a nice perspective on life to go and visit the place you grew up knowing that you have been out in the world on your own. The ironic part is that when as your were growing up you wanted nothing more than to get out of town, see the world and make something of yourself.  When you actually do, you always seem to get that longing of home and returning to that all too familiar sight of the place where you grew up.

On my way home, it was amusing going through airport security considering I brought all my electronics, including my Xbox…hehe. What can I say?  I can’t separate myself from gaming.  Now as for the trip at hand, I don’t know what to do for fun.  I mean there is always hanging out with the family, but of course I want to do much more than that. So I have been deliberating of where to go and what to do. I was thinking of snowboarding considering I have never done it before. Perhaps I could go to the ocean and enjoy the beaches and bon fires- or maybe have lots of LAN parties…hmmmm….

And it’s finally the holidays, which makes me super excited because I finally get to come home for a couple of weeks to see my mommy and grandma after my two year hiatus. I am really happy to get to see my nephew Preston that I haven’t seen in fifteen years.  I really do think the best part of going home is the appreciation you get for your life and family when you have been away for so long. It certainly brings a new meaning to the words, “Home Sweet Home”.
