There are an infinite number of Chuck Norris joke pages and videos online which are just hilarious. Chuck Norris is an icon now in popular culture but I have always wondered: why?

When did this happen? When did Chuck Norris go from being merely a man to becoming this cultural, bullet proof, icon? Was it when he was in the Air Force? Was it when he was in Way of the Dragon?
