Choices choices…
Aug 11, 12:00 am

Well I guess the old adage goes “another day, another dollar”, but for us gamers it is very very different. The adage could be rewritten for us to say,"another holiday gaming season living paycheck to paycheck”.

There is always an excitement in the air, a buzzing of anxiety, is it something you can smell, can you taste it?  The gaming landscape which we live and breathe everyday is going to change this holiday season just as it always has in the past but this year to me it is a bit different.  In the past I have always looked at it as waiting for another game to sweep me off my feet, take me to another world, show me lands of far far away or just kill time with a new puzzle game. This year is different in the sense that I really know what I am waiting for, I know what is coming and I know what I must do: spend A LOT of money! YAY!

There are so many games that I MUST HAVE. So many games that I will not let my games library be deprived of. From Assassins Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction to my one and only Modern Warfare 2, I know I will have no free time just like the rest of you to live a normal life, I am a gamer!

I have been speaking to so many people as of late to find out what games they were excited for and I have heard so many responses. Everyone seems to be excited about this year in different ways. When asked the question of “Which game are you most excited for?” I have surprisingly gotten lots of different answers.

People have responded with Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, TMNT Smash Up, Assassins Creed 2, Madden 10, Batman Arkham Asylum, MAG, Uncharted 2, Halo 3 ODST, Tekken 6, Splinter Cell Conviction, WET, Super Mario Bros. Wii, and I know I forgot a lot of games but I am sure this discussion will lead there. My point though is this, I know I will own a lot of these games and I know I will be broke but how far will this holiday season take us? Will there be another holiday season like the year Half-Life was originally released? Will there be another year like the year Halo 2 changed the way we play? Will it be Xbox 360,PS3 or Wii to break the bank? Or will this year just blow our minds in a way we never expect? Will a game come out of left field and blindside us with its mastery?

We Shall wait and see.
