Bananas, Bananas and more Bananas!!!
Jun 22, 10:00 am

As we all know, E3 has come and gone and in all it’s glory could be the topic of the next 10 blogs in a row and we wouldn’t even scratch the surface of what it consists of. Instead of doing an E3 blog I want to be a little more specific with one of my favorite games: DONKEY KONG! Yes, at this years E3, Donkey Kong Country Returns!

Donkey Kong Country has been off the radar for years now and the DKC Returns demo did not disappoint. While most E3 goers were flocking to the 3DS and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword displays, the ones that got to experience a very exciting demo with a very retro feeling(pun intended) know Donkey Kong is ready to return to it‘s former glory. Originally developed by Rare, Retro Studios has taken over the DKC project and done a phenomenal job so far, as all the reviews have raved about. An extremely tight game play this early on in development says great things for the future of this title and franchise.

Diddy Kong returns again as a sidekick to his larger counter part and a welcome site to DKC fans. In a newly added cooperative mode with multiple characters, creative levels and of course your classic DKC style, this is sure to take us back to the living room party game atmosphere of the past!

One of the things that really excited me the most about this release is the future possibilities of spin-offs. It is no secret that one of my favorite games ever was Diddy Kong Racing and I would be overly excited to see a new installment in this series. Diddy Kong racing brought out the best of the kart like racing games, a party game atmosphere and mini-games I just couldn’t get enough of. No Diddy Kong Racing spin-offs have been announced yet, but in the meantime DKC Returns will keep us occupied.
