Unfinished Business
Nov 02, 11:40 pm

Enchanted Arms was an interesting play.  It took a bit to get past the tutorial and into the game, but once I had the hang of it I was hooked.  I charged my way through colorful chess-like battles and humorous plot for many, many hours.  After making it all the way to the Queen of Ice and loosing to her several times, I set the controller down and went on to another game.

This stirred an interesting question in mind; how many games have I started and actually finished?  Now that I really think about it, I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve beaten an entire game.  I played Oblivion till my memory card (which had all my saves) got stolen.  With a helpless feeling of sadness, I gave up on trying to recreate all that I had accomplished in my game on Oblivion (all that I had accomplished = becoming a member of the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild and successfully using paint brushes to climb to the tallest tower in the Imperial City).

I am in love (sick-make-out-with-the-screen kind of love) with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, but I have yet to play the entire game.  I’m not sure why I stopped playing the campaign when I felt it to be the greatest I had ever played.  I guess I got hooked on the multiplayer and couldn’t bring myself to submit to the campaign when there where online players to pump full of lead.

Dead or Alive 4 was abandoned after I unlocked the Spartan character.  Gun wasn’t as much fun as I had anticipated and was therefore deserted.  I even stopped playing the Far Cry campaign on PC when the mutated primates became too frightening, causing me to shriek in open terror as they leaped at me.  I’ve never even beaten Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 2) on Legendary.

All these remarkable games now forsaken, left behind with the heroes stuck on pause.  What’s going to happen to these defenders of truth and justice?  If I leave Atsuma in the state I last saw him, defeated by the Queen of Ice, then I have let evil reign in the world of video games.  Instead, I’ve set a new goal for myself.  I shall return to each game and lead its character to victory! Unfinished business, here I come.
